I would crap my pants in joy. I don't care how old he is and how bad his attitude is. He is my second fave player of all time, maybe playing with crosby and malkin. Boom. Can't be any worse than Kovy. I see a 1% of this happening though.

I'd love to see him in a Pens uniform again.

I'd love to see him back. Just sayin. Not sure how he would pan out, but at the very least he would be a presence on the power play. Besides, Teemu has proved that some old guys can still play, even if some others cant. Do it RS!

Re: Penguins want Jagr back?!
Jagr would be worth the risk without question. I don't know if there is any real consideration of him returning, but the guy had more to give last time we saw him on the ice, its worth seeing what he has left. He's one of the greatest players the game has ever seen and he's still on the better side of 40.

Re: Penguins want Jagr back?!
Don't get me wrong, I have no illusions over Talbot and Duper's capabilities as top 6 players, nor do I expect to see Jagr killing penalties!Moe Wanchuk wrote:Talbot isn't a 2nd line RW, and Duper only is top 6 because we have no other choice on that side. Jags wouldn't be penalty killing. If we could learn to not be one of the most penalized teams in the league, the PK wouldn't have to bail us out every game.Luckybreak wrote:I thought he was the Rangers best player in the 08 playoffs, he really took a strong leadership role and appeared gutted when they were eliminated. He was a force on the ice and didn't have anything like the talent available here now, BUT that was 3 years ago...
I would LOVE to see him in a Pens jersey for league min, though I struggle to pick him over a dependable, penalty killing Talbot/Dupuis etc
My point: IF Jags signed for around 1mil would you jettison a player with a comparable salary who is not a gamble, more versatile, was a part of the #1 PK unit, and is a popular locker room presence?
Personally I would because I like to dream...

Indeed. And Rossi is probably LOLing at all the reactions to it in this thread.Doogs wrote:The story was leading.IanMoran wrote:I honestly don't see what the news is.
He stated he LOVED his time in Pittsburgh, looking back at it it was the best time of his life, how much he admires / respects mario, etc. All stuff we have heard him say before.
All of those good feeling still doesn't mean he'll take 3 million less to play here lol.

Re: Penguins want Jagr back?!
If RS gave Kovy an end of the year trial, I think the Pens will offer Jagr a Comrie contract with peformance bonuses. Jagr could easily slot in as a 2nd line winger for Malkin assuming he is not asking too much, and he's already made his money, so this is about ending his career with a Stanley Cup, just like he started it.

For the right price, why not. His KHL numbers show he can still find the net without a road map(unlike Kovy), so as long as the Pens don't have to mortgage the team to get him, take a chance.

Re: Penguins want Jagr back?!
Or will he just be a third "superstar" that likes to play the right half-wall, like he always has? Then him, Sid and Geno can ALL fight over that spot, rather than just Sid and Geno.darkstar57 wrote:Put can he play the point on the PP![]()

I would be willing to see what happens if it were cheap. But as much as I love him, "Jagr" and "cheap" are mutually exclusive terms.
It's great to hear the Pens want him back...

From the horse's mouth.
BEPF means Big Easy Pens Fan, my member name here. I'm from New Orleans, thus the "Big Easy" part. And I'm not the bad luck some members here seem to think.
