Same thing was repeatedly said about Kovy everywhere.
Jagr wouldn't even consider playing in the NHL with Mark Letestu as his centerman. Malkin/Crosby could make a huge difference for Jagr or Kovalev.

Jagr carries play a lot better than Kovalev does. Letestu lining up between Jagr and Neal would have actually worked. As soon as the puck gets dropped Jagr becomes the center anyway.

I might stop watching hockey if I ever see Letestu and Jagr on the same line.

One of the reasons I have severe questions as to whether he'd work with either Sid or Geno.

I don't think Sid and Jagr would work well together, but I think Malkin and Jagr would be outstanding.

I actually think he'd work well with Staal. Wouldn't have to painfully watch Staalzy try to lug the puck.

This doesn't worry me. If anything I think it would solve one of the problem's the Pens have. When Sid/Geno are split up, all the attention is on them. I think it would be beneficial to have someone else who can carry the puck consistently.

Jagr doesn't need to have the puck all the time, especially today. If he can share the puck with Lemieux, he should be able to share it with Sid or Geno.

I never really considered it, but yeah, he would work great with Staal...but considering it's very likely Staal will start the season with Malkin, it would be pretty dynamite to have all three together. However...it's all wishful thinking and I think these rumor are because everyone is bored with no hockey news.

You've already seen it twice-over, unless you boycotted during the Kip Miller/Jan Hrdina period.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. That worked out pretty well for parts of two seasons when they were regular linemates. Come to think of it, Francis liked to carry the puck too, and he and Jagr were just fine together.

Would Shero even be able to contact him for contract purposes yet? Does Jagr coming from the KHL still mean he couldn't be signed until the free agency period begins?

And four years ago, the Rangers spent $80 million on two centers, letting Nylander walk, and he couldn't mesh with either one of them, and spent the season playing on rookie Brandon Dubinsky's wing. Jagr is quite finicky on who he meshes with - talent or not talent.

We need Tomas here to tell us what the Czech papers are reporting. My wife is Czech, and she did mention that there is a little buzz that Jagr is fishing for an NHL contract, and he would prefer Pittsburgh, but that was about as far as she read. She can't stand Jagr for being such a hypocrite. He wore 68 in memory of the Czech people being over run by the communists in 1968, but runs off to play for big $$$ in Russia.

Do not ever criticize Kip Miller on this board if you know what's good for you. :pop:

Quite a difference, if you ask me.
