Thought it was pretty awesome. They slowed things down and focused on character development and dribbled some exposition in. The added scenes not in the book were extremely good. They should cut more book crap out if they are going to add so much awesome. They really developed Jaimie and Tyrion a lot more which was good. Also, Syrio started Arya's dancing lessons which was just awesome.eddysnake wrote:how was last night's show?

Re: George R.R. Martin
I’m a little behind on watching. A couple comments on episode three. I’ve been very happy with how they portray the characters so far (in terms of casting and appearance), but I don’t think Maester Aemon looks old enough. I know they can’t hire an actor who is actually that old, but he’s supposed to be 100 years old and “ancient, bald, wrinkled, shrunken, and blind” in appearance. Also, when Bran is in bed and Old Nan is minding him, in the book she offers to tell him a story of Brandon the Builder. In the show she offers a story about Ser Duncan the Tall. Maybe a little product placement for those other stories? And wouldn’t the short stories about Dunk and Egg make some nice, for example, 90-minute made-for-TV movies?

I've probably said this a couple times before, but this 1 hour a week nonsense is killing me. I've been rewatching the previous episode before the new one to keep it going, but this is definitely a show where it's hard to wait for the next episode, even if you already know whats going to happen.
Anyone know where they are filming for the Dothroki locations?

The two major locations are Ireland and Malta. I think they use both for the various Dothroki shots. The wedding by the sea was obviously Malta.eddysnake wrote:I've probably said this a couple times before, but this 1 hour a week nonsense is killing me. Peter Dinklage should win an Emmy for his work so far. That is all.
Looks like I need to add these to my long list of books to read...

Re: George R.R. Martin
So naturally, I broke out the book and read the first couple chapters... and I can already see why people were raving about how good of a translation it was to tv... brought me right back to those first couple scenes of the series.

First time I read through this thread(sober anyway, I could have easily posted in here at some point without remembering). I stopped at this post, and I think i'm gonna give the series a chance.canaan wrote:This show is not short on knockers, thats for sure.

Yeah, this is a huge Conk Block. Phone can't connect to the server and on the computer it restarts at 46 seconds. So cruel.canaan wrote:Try restarting your devicethe wicked child wrote:And now the damn video keeps crashing at part way into the intro. Thanks HBO.

I blame the entertainment thread.
