Intel Corp. said Wednesday that it has redesigned the electronic switches on its chips so that computers can keep getting cheaper and more powerful.
The switches, known as transistors, have typically been flat. By adding a third dimension "fins" that jut up from the base Intel will be able to make the transistors and chips smaller. Think of how skyscrapers address the need for more office space when land is scarce.
The company said the new structure will let chips run on less power. That gives Intel its best shot yet at cracking the growing markets for chips used in smartphones and tablet computers. Intel has been weak there because its current chips use too much power.
According to Harold, the world was created in 11,003 B.C. and then flooded 4990 B.C. Using these two dates, Harold has decided that the 23-year tribulation started in 1988. So that leaves 2011 as Judgment day.
It does not end there. Harold does not say that the world will end in May – the day the world will end is slated for October 21st 2011.

I'm surprised people don't have nervous break downs with so many end of the world dates to worry about.
Astronomers said Wednesday that space is littered with hundreds of billions of planets that have been ejected from the planetary systems that gave them birth and either are going their own lonely ways or are only distantly bound to stars at least as 10 times as far away as the Sun is from the Earth.

Like say Saturn at 9.5 AU or Uranus at over 19 AU?
400 billion gas giants in the Milky Way. That's the real story. What a grand attempt to sensationalize the wrong thing. Don't understand why this writer wants to force the 'rogue planet' angle.
“More likely,” Dr. Boss wrote in an e-mail, “these are distant gas giants, much like our own Jupiter and Saturn."
The study, which examined the hippocampus region of the brain, found that Protestants who did not have a "born again" experience had significantly more gray matter than either those who reported a life-changing religious experience, Catholics, or unaffiliated older adults.

So my tax dollars really paid for that study?!?
I know, I could have told you this information without the study.
So why would born-again Protestants, Catholics and those with no religious affiliation have a smaller hippocampus?
That's what I don't understand. If you are going to chalk it up to stress-caused hormones, don't atheists suffer stress living in a largely believing world?

The only feasible explanation I can come up with is that they're possibly born that way. But there's no evidence for that, plus it would be impossible to tell at birth iirc.
Otherwise, there must be some part of the development process, where their brains don't fully develop. Obviously, being smarter or not doesn't have anything to do with it, because there are people who are Christian, but not "Born Again." (I think I'm right on that one, you'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge of the 384393 different versions of the same religion)
