I actually live out in the western suburbs, in Paoli. One of my favorite places to golf (about a 35 minute drive from here) is Moccasin Run, out near Gap, PA. Westover is nice too. I wish I could golf at Chester Valley CC, but that place is very exclusive.KennyTheKangaroo wrote:does shafnutz golf in the eastern philly suburbs? if so, where?

Does anybody else think that Jack Nicklaus must just go around with a huge smile on his face these days?

When I predicted that Tiger wouldn't reach 19 majors (or even 18) in the aftermath of the fiasco at the end of 2009, even I admitted it was premature. But I think there are just too many factors working against him now.HomerPenguin wrote:Does anybody else think that Jack Nicklaus must just go around with a huge smile on his face these days?
Not the least of which is the enormous parity in golf today.

Ah, when comparing Norristown area courses, Kenny the kangaroo prefered Jeffersonville over Westover. Never played moccasin run or chester valley. Has shafnutz ever made the trek to the middle of nowhere to play pilgrims oak? that is one interesting course.shafnutz05 wrote:I actually live out in the western suburbs, in Paoli. Ah of course, Jeffersonville! I've played there before. I actually lived about a half mile from there, right off of W. Main St. and Whitehall.
I am intrigued by this Pilgrim's Oak place....might have to check it out.

i heard that VJ will not be playing either because he didn't show up for his tee time for a qualifier. he currently holds the most consecutive majors played in streak.

Another major, another Rory McIlroy surge to the top of the leaderboard, now holding a five stroke edge on the rest of the field.
Yeah, we all remember his collapse at the Masters, but this kid is really, really good. He is going to win a ton of majors in his career.

I live in Rockville, about 5 minutes from the US open, and it's obnoxious down here. Metro's more crowded than normal, people paying 50 bucks to park on other peoples lawns. They have "official" US Open parking that's like 6 or 7 miles off site, and they bus people in.
Congressional is an unbelievale course though. I've seen it, never played it as it costs a fortune and I'd probably shoot 160.

Jesus, I go away for 10 minutes and McIlroy holes an eagle, now sitting at -10, 7 strokes in the lead.
KTK, I know he has had those collapses, but I would not be surprised if he legitimately learned from that experience. I really think he is going to be the best golfer of his generation, IMO.

Beyond amazing...on a US Open course?Gaucho wrote:Rory has yet to make a bogey. That is just amazing.
-11 now. The lowest score anyone has ever gotten to in a US Open is -12 (not finishing at -12, just getting there at some point).

Re: LGP Golf Thread
McIlroy is definitely killing the hell out of the curve right now. Looks like only the top 60 scores moving on, none of that within 10 strokes of the lead stuff.
It's actually a really tight field...you look at Mickelson, seems like he is out of it, but he is only three strokes back from 2nd.
