how could anyone be hoping that a 22 year old kid would collapse in the final round of a major championship again? cold-hearted is the only word that comes to mind.pittsports87 wrote:Damn, I was hoping he would collapse again!

Rory is beast. Easily, since I've seriously started watching golf semi seriously, I've taken a liking to him. Dude just killed it at the Open.

I googled it yesterday because we were all wondering the same thing. I guess he was one of the first to talk to him after the Masters meltdown and also sits on the board of the company that represents McIlroy, that seemed to be the connection between the two.DudeMan2766 wrote:Did anyone see, and also know why Shane O Mac was hanging with Rorys's dad?

I think it's great for golf the way Rory won. People like to see the complete domination. I also believe that Rory can attract a completely different demographic than Tiger did if he can maintain this play (needs to show some more consistency, he's only won like 4 times?) because of his personality. It'll be interesting to see. If he can win the British like this, the world may fold on itself

Yeah, I was actually extremely annoyed anytime I heard comments like that from Thursday through Sunday. So dumb.count2infinity wrote:how could anyone be hoping that a 22 year old kid would collapse in the final round of a major championship again? cold-hearted is the only word that comes to mind.pittsports87 wrote:Damn, I was hoping he would collapse again!

47 pro wins, including 3 Masters. I'd love to fall apart like that.count2infinity wrote:with that short miss and bogey, here comes the breakdown...count2infinity wrote:Phil is in a groove right now... but he'll fall apart like always.

Re: LGP Golf Thread
i have no doubt that he is a fantastic golfer, but he has had some legit blowups throughout his career when he's had the chance to do something special. i really hope he doesn't fall apart these last few holes and he manages to get back into a share or outright lead, but i don't expect it... the dude's a headcase.Gaucho wrote:47 pro wins, including 3 Masters. I remember him pissing away the US Open Championship in 2006, yes. On the last hole, iirc.

I stand by this post. Stick a fork in Tiger, he'll be lucky to win one more major between now and Shady Pastures Retirement Home.shafnutz05 wrote:When I predicted that Tiger wouldn't reach 19 majors (or even 18) in the aftermath of the fiasco at the end of 2009, even I admitted it was premature. Not the least of which is the enormous parity in golf today.
Go Stricker!!! Best player in the world to not win a major yet.
