Dow at lowest since March it looks like. Looks like Dow is trying to make up for the 200 pt drop it tried to make yesterday before stocks crawled back at the end.

This, basically. It's not always hand in hand, but when the stock market drops sharply, rates typically drop.

the 10 year treasury is a good thing to follow re: interest rates. When it drops, usually all rates do as well.

That's what I figured, as that is the normal pattern.

I was just wondering with all of the "debt crisis" if that would kind of cause a weird change where the rates would go up due to the loss of credit confidence in the US.

I bought a large piece of land, annexed it from the township, and I will be living in the exclusive township of NANville.

Large investors have moved so much money into cash accounts at Bank of New York that on Thursday the bank said it would begin charging some clients a 0.13 percent fee to hold their cash.

Ouch.

I bought some stuff not too long ago...I'm not going to look at the unrealized gain/loss column for a few months at least on those.

I am invested for the long term, but if companies start slashing dividends I may puke in my mouth a little.

none of this would happen if we just had a system where we all work, forfeit our money to the government, and they distributed it as necessary...

Why would companies start slashing dividends? Cash is piling up on balance sheets at unprecedented amounts.
