Went to the Dogfish Head Brewery last week. It was very interesting, some great back stories about Sam the owner and starting up. had the burton baton, 60-90 IPA, raison d'etre, and shelter pale ale: all were very delightful.

Funny you should mention that... last Saturday night I went to a concert in a small intimate venue of here on L.I. and before the show we stopped at a local Irish Pub that prides itself on having great Tap Beer selections. DogFish Head 60 was the recommendation of our server. Good choice.

Landshark 16oz cans were on sale today at my local distributor. $17 with a $4 rebate. Even if you don't care much for that beer, you can't beat the price.

I spend a month in Key West every winter... while I'm there Landshark is my beer of choice. That's an awesome deal!

Had a Terrapin Rye Pale Ale yesterday.. been a while since I had one on tap. So tasty...

Also, "Full Pint" is a quality local emerging brewing company. Lots of good stuff.

I was supposed to make a trip to the Terrapin brewery today but the wife decided we shouldn't go last minute. I think their best year round beer is their India Brown. They call it Hop Karma and it's awesome. It was actually my official beer for the 2009 Cup run, which started out as a great idea but paying $10 for a six pack 3-4 times a week for two and a half months ended up being pretty expensive... and completely worth it. They just had a release of India Krunkles a few months ago and it was awesome. I never really thought much of Terrapin's beers until recently. Their side projects and some of their seasonals are great.

I'll be drinking some homebrew as I bottle a cream stout. I've also got some Victory Yakima Glory in there too. Pretty excited. Going to be making a batch pretty soon for the start of the season, not sure what yet....

I was beer shopping last night and bought a troegs variety pack and realized that Troegs is definitely one of my top choices all the time.

Troeg's is right in Harrisburg, solid stuff. I wish they had a brewpub on site though.

Victory is solid too, albeit further east (Downingtown).

Unibrou and Weyerbacher are also up there.

Unibrou is amazing, particularly for a Canadian brewery that specializes in Belgian style beers. Very rarely am I disappointed in anything they put out.

Hard to not list Sierra Nevada, too. Their stuff is just quality.

Western PA has gotten a good bit of influx of newer crafts recently. Wish we could get Pretty Things on this side of the state.

Sierra and Dogfish head are interchangeable to me. I like that you can get a Sierra Pale ale or Dogfishead Head 60 minute at most places these days. Which is great when your at some dive with no artisan beers, but i'll always opt for something different when I got to a bar with a nice selection on tap.

I think I have mentioned this place before, but I feel so fortunate to have one of the best microbrew places in the country a 10 minute walk from my front door:

The only drawback is that you definitely pay a little more here, but the food is incredible and the beer selection is top notch. Constantly updated beer menu and website. (If anyone is ever down in Chester County)

Going to have to disagree with you there Troy, I am a much bigger fan of Dogfish than Sierra. Sierra never has done it for me.

By the way, going to East End today if you are interested. Beer selection at East End is great right now. Also are selling Bigger hop by the swingtop.
