I do it... I think it says to do it on the tube...
Otherwise, it's because I'm slightly OCD about some stuff.

hmm, maybe i was a bit harsh. i was just imagining someone trying to force me to do it (which has never really happened before) and it started to bother me. i don't care if people do it hah.MRandall25 wrote:I do it... I think it says to do it on the tube...

don't apologize. that may be the first truly "irrational" pet peeve in the whole thread. you are the winner.LeopardLetang wrote:hmm, maybe i was a bit harsh. i was just imagining someone trying to force me to do it (which has never really happened before) and it started to bother me. i don't care if people do it hah.MRandall25 wrote:I do it... People that argue that they'd rather be too cold then too hot with the argument that you can take layers off when you're warm.PensFanInDC wrote:People who complain it's too cold during the winter and then complain it's too hot during the summer.

Seriously piss me off. It's not because I hate animals or think it should be OK to abuse them but there are actual human beings that are starving, dying, being beaten, etc. and I'm supposed to care more about these animals. Especially when the songs being played were written about effing people not animals. Hate it.
And another thing I can't stand women who get offended when people stare or say something when they breast feed in public. Excuse me mam but your breast is exposed in public. Just because there is a baby attached doesn't mean it's OK. If you didn't have a baby you'd be arrested for indecent exposure and guess what else if you're gonna whip your boobie out in public people are going to stare and have issue with it. The world does not revolve around you and your baby. Either deal with the gawking or take it to the bathroom/car.

I have a few more to add to the list...
-people who ask you questions when you are clearly on the phone.
-people who are still saying "happy new year" on Jan 5th.
-people who ask a question, and then don't pay attention to the answer.

The worst part about that are the people who justify it by "it will only take a second" or do stuff like stare and/or cross their arms while waiting.Froggy wrote:I have a few more to add to the list...

There's a guy at work that either continually asks you to put whoever you're talking to on the phone on hold, or he stands at your desk and starts picking stuff up fidgeting until you either hang up the call or get so upset that you put the customer on hold to deal with him.JS© wrote:The worst part about that are the people who justify it by "it will only take a second" or do stuff like stare and/or cross their arms while waiting.Froggy wrote:I have a few more to add to the list...

I don't know if anyone has run across this, but there are two people I work with that do this constantly:
You are having a conversation, the conversation ends, but they stand there and still stare at you. There is an uneasy pause as they continue to stare at you. So usually I bring something else up to get rid of that uneasy feeling and then a new one starts.
Why just stand stare when the conversation is obviously over.

It irks me when grocery stores don't bag certain things, like a gallon of milk.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
The opposite problem is that you have ended the conversation, given them all of the appropriate non-verbal cues that you longer wish to talk to them and start walking away.....and then they decide to continue the conversation and expect you to walk back.newarenanow wrote:I don't know if anyone has run across this, but there are two people I work with that do this constantly:

At least they are acknowledging that you are on the phone. What really irks me is when they just dive right in to the question.Malkamaniac wrote:There's a guy at work that either continually asks you to put whoever you're talking to on the phone on hold, or he stands at your desk and starts picking stuff up fidgeting until you either hang up the call or get so upset that you put the customer on hold to deal with him.JS© wrote:The worst part about that are the people who justify it by "it will only take a second" or do stuff like stare and/or cross their arms while waiting.Froggy wrote:I have a few more to add to the list...

The windshield wiper fluid reservoir in my car does not hold an entire thing of fluid when bone dry. I have like 3 things of fluid in my garage that are about 10% full. Grrrr

This drives me crazy. The containers are a gallon, but every car I've ever owned has a reservoir that holds like .9 gallon.Letang Is The Truth wrote:The windshield wiper fluid reservoir in my car does not hold an entire thing of fluid when bone dry. IB4 you should be filling the reservoir before you run out of wiper fluid.
