Had no idea you were quoting from a post 3 days ago based on that. Either way, you're the one rolling the ball bearings on this for reasons not completely known.

Re: Jerry Sandusky Trial
He did great things for his players, his community and PSU. But this case shows when push comes to shove, he was phony and a terrible person.....turning a blind eye on a serial pedophile because of the potential bad publicity is disgusting. And anyone here that thinks he did everything he was obligated to do by reporting to his "superior" is deliberately naive.shafnutz05 wrote:I don't want to get drawn into this argument again, but I look at someone's whole body of work. I believe he did a ton of good in his lifetime, but later in his life, failed horribly when he could have done the right thing. I think he was a good man that really crapped the bed morally and in terms of leadership with the Sandusky case. Why is that so hard to understand?columbia wrote:I'll stop when people stop defending his virtue; you know, those scholarships really make up for utter moral failure.
If you think his legacy should be 100% about the Sandusky case, and all of the good he did over many decades should be completely erased due to that, then more power to you. That's just not the way I think.

Re: Jerry Sandusky Trial
How many times does it need to be said that NO ONE here is saying that. Just drop it so we have a place to discuss and follow this trial. NO ONE is absolving Paterno, just not bothering to harp on it because it was already discussed in a thread that got deleted. This is about the on going trial. Had Paterno still been alive and testifie in this, okay maybe thats a discussion we can have. But this thread was fine until someone keeps making comments which is looking more and more like an attempt to troll.Troy Loney wrote:He did great things for his players, his community and PSU. The correct historical record is not a troll.
Those who want to ignore it, for the sake of a legacy, are the real trolls.

Then, please start another thread titled "The True Legacy of Joe Paterno". This thread is meant to discuss the Jerry Sandusky trial, as it clearly states in the title of the thread.

What you're harping on has nothing to do with the thread. No one is refuting what you're saying, it's just not the correct thread for it. If you want to discuss it further, then create your own thread.columbia wrote:The correct historical record is not a troll.

You're certainly intelligent enough to know that they are not unrelated. *

The don't discuss it here thinking:
Cancer patients should only discuss it with their physician, but not with their family?

As maker of this thread.. get the Paterno crap out of here. This thread isn't about Paterno. It's about the Sandusky trial.

Sure, he had no involvement is the potential process of earlier and swifter justice.skullman80 wrote:As maker of this thread.. get the Paterno crap out of here. This thread isn't about Paterno. It's about the Sandusky trial.
It's amazing how that only applies to JoePa and no one else, who was aware of that pervert.

How much does it burn you that Paterno never broke the law and couldn't be charged with anything?columbia wrote:Sure, he had no involvement is the potential process of earlier and swifter justice.skullman80 wrote:As maker of this thread.. get the Paterno crap out of here. Paterno and many other failed them.
I just want people to show the appropriate courage to list him equally alongside the others, whom have been railed against.
Why is that so difficult?
Is football that important?

Re: Jerry Sandusky Trial
I'm sorry, but this is hilarious.
Columbia: "Paterno is the most evil, horrible person ever!"
Everyone else: "We agree but we've already gone over that. Let's stick to the trial."
Columbia: "How dare you absolve Paterno of his sins. He may as well have raped those children himself!"
Everyone else: "We're not absolving him of anything. He failed those boys and lost our respect."
Columbia: "You're all just a bunch of Paterno apologists!!!"
And round and round it goes.
Just fyi, I don't give a *pizza* about Paterno, PSU or college football.

Gotcha.
Speaking the truth = TROLL.
If there were no dispute, I would have only posted once on the subject.

Re: Jerry Sandusky Trial
how many people need to say to you that they agree Paterno was part of the problem before you stop acting like no one is saying it? You're just trying to get a thread deleted. EVERYONE has agreed with you, but asking you to move on and talk about the trial. You refuse to do that.

I didn't realize that one could indict a corpse; but hey, we need to preserve that reputation.Rocco wrote:It's a simple question.columbia wrote:The law is your standard of humanity?Rocco wrote:How much does it burn you that Paterno never broke the law and couldn't be charged with anything?columbia wrote:Sure, he had no involvement is the potential process of earlier and swifter justice.skullman80 wrote:As maker of this thread.. get the Paterno crap out of here. You made it clear that death made no difference to you earlier in the thread.columbia wrote:I didn't realize that one could indict a corpse; but hey, we need to preserve that reputation.
They had the chance to charge him when he was alive but didn't, presumably because he broke no laws. So for the 3rd time, how much does it burn you that they couldn't find anything to charge him with?
