I was there for the making of this. Funniest thing I've ever witnessed on a job. And yes, that lightning in the background is real.

Tiger wins the AT&T National, passes Jack, takes over the top spot in the FedEx Cup rankings, and is now the front runner for Player of the Year. Pretty good week for him.

Ehh, winning majors isn't everything. And if he keeps playing like this then he'll get back to winning them eventually.

I agree, just felt like being total idiotic statement guy.

As long as Tiger can consistently put 4 days together he will eventually win a major or 2. The thing is he is running out time. His body has been broken that even though he is 36, he might as well be 46.

I heard a couple days ago that despite his slump he still wins one out of every four tournaments he's in.

Well he really helped his average this year by winning 3 out of 11 tournaments

Gotcha.

I think the age/health argument could go either way. On one hand, he's had so many injuries that it's only a matter of time until his body can't handle the game anymore. But on the other, he keeps himself in such excellent shape that he might be able to stay at a high level until he's 45 or so. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

His left knee is what makes me leery. If his knee is off even a little bit, it could ruin an entire week. And no matter how physically fit you are, that structural damage will always be present.

I really like my new clubs. I've been making a habit of shooting 9 holes at least once a week and its starting to pay off. I'm almost sub-50 on 9 holes which sucks but seeing as I was at like 65 last year its a huge improvement

Where you were at sounds very similar to my situation. I'm at the point now where depending on the day (I'm wildly inconsistent) I'll be between 50 and 60 for 9. Recently on the higher end, so I'm at one of those frustrating walls right now. Going to the range for some reason always seems to make me worse because I leave more frustrated than when I got there. I've wanted to look into fitted clubs because of other friends raving about them, but I really don't want to spend hundreds to find out my swing is still terrible and I'm hitting the same. My short game and putting have been the best I've ever done, but my 2nd shot long irons, 3-5, are just atrocious right now.

My biggest issue is still my chipping within 30 yards. I only use a pitching wedge but thinking if I got a 56 or 60 degree wedge I might improve a little there as well.

My best advice? Unless you have a bunker between your ball and the hole, don't use a pitching wedge (or even worse, a 56 degree wedge) to chip. Use a 7 iron or so and just chip and roll it. For your average golfer, you will have much better result using that simple approach than trying to hit Phil Mickelson shots around the green.

Haven't touched a club since last August. Dad tells me he wants to golf Thursday...

Awwwwwwwww ****... This'll be interesting.

Also, I use both a 54 and 58 degree Slazenger wedge around the green. My short game is awful though... Under 75 yards is where the wheels fall off.

Tee to within 75 yards is an adventure. Anything within 75 yds is easy for me. I don't understand it.
