i honestly think it was heat exhaustion.

ive been an athlete on some level or another my whole life. but nothing like that has ever happened. that includes preseason soccer training and conditioning every August for several years.

I just never felt anything like it before. I don't know if I ever sweated like that before either.

Can anyone send me articles or a daily plan on using supplements? I just want a basic when to take them and how much to use. I don't want to go crazy with this just the basic what and need and when i need to take it. All articles i find on it are from Joe " i live to lift" Weightlifter who gives you 25 things to take. Even going so far to suggest waking up at 4 AM to eat something so your body doesn't eat its self.

taking a basic whey protein is certainly the best supplement. you want to take it immediately after lifting. adding a bit extra in the morning or before bed isn't a bad idea either.

creatine is a good one to take if you are going to follow a workout plan that includes several days per week. you want to take it about a half hour before lifting and immediately after. you will also want to take it on off days and to drink an enormous amount of water, since it's basic function is to keep water in your cells.

glutamine is a good one even for people who don't lift. take it around the same time you take your creatine before working out and before bed on non work out days.

ive also taken nitric oxide. the main ingredient in that is l-arginine. its very common as an addition in creatine and protein powders. i dont know how much it helps make you stronger, but it does really increase blood flow.

Thanks, i heard of Detrox, or something like that? its a simple carb, is this a must or just an extra thing to take. I hate the idea of overloading my system. I will be comming off my diet and i can tell i have lost some muscle mass and just want to put a little back on.

Got my TRX bands for in home training. Much easier to get to my workout when I am at home than driving to the gym.

Well I was working out at 6 AM at the school gym lol. I was generally the only person in there. And I rarely do free weights, mostly just as benchmarks and my roommate and I do those on the same days, so it was kind of a drag to wake up to drive somewhere when now I can just hang my tools on a door and bust my ass at my place.

Studying for my PTC is driving me insane. So many big words and sciencey things.

On another note, I am down a total of 35lbs. I've lost 4 inches on my waist and 3 inches on my thighs. I've gained 1.5" on my arms (yeah buddy!). I can now wear size 44-46 pants. Yes...still a big man, but at least that size is easily found in most department stores. When I was a 48-50 I would almost always have to shop at a big and tall store.

I actually have to do 50 burpees on video as the result of a FB challenge. Maybe I post it here....maybe not. Depends on how many hours minutes it takes me.

Congrats! Saw you mention you were studying for your PTC the other day. Down 45 myself and still looking to drop at least another 15.

For those who are looking to get into the running thing and don't want to get scared off with a 5k, theres a run at the strip in the evening coming up. It's only a mile, but it's broken up into several defined groups. Everything from elite sub-5min runners to "I just want to run an officially timed mile". It's later in the evening, like after 7, so heat shouldn't be an issue.

We didn't get back to the house from Utah until 2 AM last night, so I skipped the 5k (first ever) I had originally intended to run in Philly today. So instead, I ended up going to my favorite trail and running just a hair under six miles. My pace throughout was 10:26, which absolutely shocked me (in a good way). Farthest I've ever run by a two mile margin. Now I am going to go die.

Just ran 9.33 kilometers. 63 minutes. That's pretty slow but it was my (very late) season debute and the rain was pouring. Just happy I got around my lap without walking for stretches. Very positively surprised actually.

Heh, that is eerily close to my time from above (9.47 km in 61 minutes).

Shaf, didn't you say you were in the Coast Guard? I figured you'd have to run a lot farther than 2 miles...

I haven't been on any kind of PT regimen in seven years. Let myself go a bit, working on getting back to it now.
