I'm never giving up beer. The pasta was a "cheat" meal and the pizza was to confirm gluten sensitivity.
im just busting your stones, brah.

pfidc, that does not mean you are allergic to gluten. Beer would also cause those problems. I know that when I was on the diet for long time, I now am a lot more sensitive (stomach problems wise) to small amounts of gluten, but that was with months of being gluten free. I also was just more aware of my body and how I react to certain foods.

My advice, however, is that if you think this is a gluten allergy you have to stop the gluten free diet and get tested. If you have been on a gluten free diet you are actually not able to get tested. Keep this in mind. A week off of gluten should not be a problem with getting tested, but upwards of a month could cause problems with the test results.

I believe my last post mentioned a few times that I never came to the foregone conclusion that it is gluten intolerance. Bottom line is that my stomach feels better gluten free. I will remain that way as it's making me eat healthier anyway. 10 pounds lost in a week since starting the diet. 50 lbs total lost in 5 months.

That doesn't really make sense...if you had gluten sensitivity, you would have been experiencing symptoms over a long period of time, especially if it made you violently ill. My brother-in-law had lesions (a common symptom) for a long period of time before he realized it was gluten.

I think you might have just gotten unlucky. The beer would have initiated the same symptoms.
That's not true. Gluten intolerance, much like lactose intolerance, can be gotten "used to". How much better I felt and how much better my....er....bodily functions were after going gluten free are a good indicator that I very well MAY be gluten intolerant (NOT celiac). I rid my system of it and then introduced it again suddenly. I am going to wait 2 more weeks and then I'm going to eat a simply piece of bread and see what happens.
Gluten is an inflammatory. That's not up for discussion, its fact.

Regardless if you have celiacs or not

Now that I have an hour commute and don't get home til a little later, I'm going to attempt to hit the gym before work. Esp this week because I'm still training and work is pretty relaxed right now. If I can get to the gym y 630 or 7 I can get a good hour in before I have to shower up and leave. Odds I actually do it tho, who knows.

I keep motivated because of my subscriptions on YouTube.... I'm sure that sounds pathetic but it works for me

Now that I track everything I eat, having a food scale is a MUST. Got one cheap at Wal-Mart, but it is perfect for measuring stuff that comes in serving sizes (a lot of snacks, condiments, etc). I.E., when I put mayo on my sandwich, keep applying until the scale gets to 10g (2/3 of a serving). Good for lunch meat for sammiches too.

Put up my fastest 5k time in awhile yesterday: 28:09. Was kinda pissed that I didn't go sub-28, but considering I haven't officially tracked my times I may have been near that and never knew it until now. Had I not walked for the first 30 seconds for warmup, I would have been under. :face:

Goal is to be sub-27 by the time I do the two races in one day. Not sure if I can make up a minute in under three weeks. Even if I do, it won't show up in my time directly. Color Me Rad is not timed (something I didn't know beforehand) and Warrior Dash has a lot of stop/go and ankle-deep mud.

Saw your post and went back to check my race results. I ran like 5 races in 2008 and my best was 23:50, I wish I didn't have messed up feet and could have stayed with it.

thats actually a really good idea. kenny the kanagroo thinks many people (including the kangaroo) would probably very disgusted to find out how big their portions are.

Yup, although you'd be surprised. I was convinced I was using like two servings of mayo (love that stuff). I was actually using like 2/3 of a serving. Celebration ensued.

Mtn bike racing is going to have to wait until next year at the earliest. I'm simply not fast enough. Rode with a former state champion a couple weeks back and it confirmed just how slow I still am. That Russian squat routine really messed me up as well as I was an idiot to begin that in late spring. Went well for a while, then horribly wrong to a point where I may actually be weaker now than when I started, shrug.

Fitness model porn, eh?

I'm more of a pure strength guy. Here is a WR hightlight video I used to watch all the time back when I was competing:

And of course Lu Yong. You'd kind of have to know the background to appreciate this, but basically he was red-lighted on a WR/Gold medal attempt and then did the same weight successfully on his last lift:

There's no way I'd be able to hit that time in a 5k, at least not anytime soon. I think 27:00 might be obtainable by the end of the year.
