Started GoRuck training this weekend. Total of 10 miles with a 40lb ruck. 5.5 of those miles were hiking up and down the three peaks at Sugarloaf Mountain. My legs are killing me today.

6 weeks until the half marathon! I haven't run in over a month due to a string of illnesses, but hopefully that gives me enough time to get my strength back and not finish with a terrible time.

I have basically stopped any kind of lifting for the past couple weeks. Maybe one trip to the gym per week at most. Been keeping up with the running though, minimum 5 times every 2 weeks, usually 3 times a week. 30-45 minutes of running each. Need to get back into the lifting and am planning to do so tonight.

yeah, I have a 10 mile run coming up in four weeks, but I am not TOO concerned with being ready for it.

I'm doing HIIT on the off days (about 16-20 minutes or so), and when I'm lifting I get a pretty decent cardio workout just from doing that.

For cardio I lift faster. I barely run anymore. I do, however, do suicides at the end of each workout.

I'm doing a few 5ks this summer and intend to have a time around 21 minutes(under 7 minute mile average). Thus I need to be running.

Yah, if I do the 10 mile run with like a 10:30 pace, I'll be perfectly happy.

Doubt I could do 36 miles in one day. Seems like a fun goal to have though.

Is gaining 16 lbs over 4 months too lofty a goal?

My friend from work said it's the most grueling thing he's ever done. He likened it to the baby crawl at Mud on the Mountain/7 Springs, but much longer, many more of them, and no rope to help you up.

I just hope I get halfway.

If you jsut want to put on weight, its doable. If you want to maintain health, probably not.

It depends. How much do you weigh now? What is your body type (scrawny, big frame, average, etc.)? How much/what type of exercise can you do with your injury? Any nutritional limitations?

I am at 155. Currently somewhat scrawny because I haven't done much since my accident, but before it I was average, and I can do just about anything that doesn't involve running or jumping and I have no nutritional limitations.

If you want to gain mass (not fat) it is doable but will be tough. Can you do squats and deadlifts? I'd recommend a steady diet of protein and lots of lifting, particularly squats, deadlifts, bench press, and rows.

Eh, squats and deadlifts may cause issues. Didn't even think of them. I really don't know how much my ankle can take nor my shoulder for that matter. I was curious if I was setting too lofty a goal and that seems to be the case. I am just looking for a hobby right now, and I figured working out would be a nice distraction.
