Re: The Dark Knight Game Thread
maybe he has a long weekend? Why did Canaan investigate WK, that doesn't make sense. Even less sense is why he would be role blocked. Slappy any insight?

Re: The Dark Knight Game Thread
Ok, obviously something still isn't adding up here. I'm wondering if slappy was just delaying things yesterday for some reason. It seems that the reds, if there even are a group of reds, didn't get kills the first three nights. And now that I type that, I'm thinking that there may not be reds at all, but just a group of independent oranges, villains of Batman. We got The Joker, so maybe Bane and Scarecrow are others? Obviously there wouldn't be a direct correlation to characters picked and who is bad (i.e., Kaizer as Bane isn't necessarily orange), but I think we're dealing with separate independents as opposed to a group of reds.

Re: The Dark Knight Game Thread
i had work to do at work. sorry. my rationale was that i didnt know 1.) if i was going to die 2.) if either one of them was going to die. so in the off-chance that i didnt die, i wanted to investigate somebody outside of that triangle and not waste a see on a guy that may've ended up dead. it was the safe route, imo. Either slappy blocked me, there is another role blocker or you cant be seen.canaan wrote:i have a rationale. give me a bit and ill explain.Willie Kool wrote:Are you ******* serious? You wasted a see on me with the crank / slappy thing still unresolved?canaan wrote:I tried to investigate WK but I was blocked.
i think the game is set-up to be a defensive-style RP heavy game. why havent there been night kills? if slappy blocked me, why didnt crankshaft kill me? if slappy didnt block me, there is another role blocker and slappy continued to block crankshaft.

Re: The Dark Knight Game Thread
that is possible. Also in other games RP's could save up there kills maybe the red/oranges will unleash all there kills at once?

oh, I was kind of playing of the idea of them being all independent oranges, so maybe. I could see that being way to powerful for a group of reds.

Re: The Dark Knight Game Thread
If you read the the last write up and think about how the last Batman movie was about the villians taking control of Gothman to eventually destroy it, perhaps the reds/oranges are able to destroy the entire village if they are able to live after a certain number of days pass.
At this point, based on a theory that there is only one roleblocker, it makes absolutely no sense for slappy to block canaan if slappy is trying to help the village. Not sure if slappy is red, but he isn't helping the village at this point.

I'm 100% on board with the slappy vote. There is no foreseeable way his presence in the game continues to help the village.

I'm just looking forward to what slappy says when he surfaces this morning. Should be a good show.

I didnt block canaan. I blocked Cbear and received the response that no role was blocked.
This is definitely not a traditional game. I think the theory that there are a bunch of random villains (perhaps they need to find one another?) acting in some mix of independence/semi-concert is probably accurate.
Its pretty obvious that Canaan investigating anyone other than me or crankshaft is incomprehensible, so I dont think there is any way you can trust him.
If you want to kill me go for it, because at least you get the utility that I am green. Again, my only defense is why on earth would I do what I did at the time I did it if I am red/orange. The vote makes zero sense.

Why would slappy set us up to vote him off? Do you mean we're being setup to vote off slappy?MWB wrote:I feel like we're being set up by slappy.

Re: The Dark Knight Game Thread
Again, I dont even really disagree that the maximum utility to the village is voting me off because youre afraid of voting for another role player with a claimed seer and doctor.MWB wrote:I feel like we're being set up by slappy.
If you step back and look at when I made my claim, the nature of the claim, I think its difficult to conclude that I am red/orange.
But at this point, if you want to vote me off, feel free. Youll learn I am green. I dont know what this will get you, because it tells you nothing about the veracity of crankshaft or canaans claims.

Canaan's see and his explanation make little sense, but if bad, what advantage does he gain by saying he saw wk? He could have said he saw slappy and was blocked.

I have to agree with slappy here. Canaan's explanation didn't really make me feel any better about it, either.slappybrown wrote:Its pretty obvious that Canaan investigating anyone other than me or crankshaft is incomprehensible, so I dont think there is any way you can trust him.
