‘‘That’s no excuse for what I said. I don’t use that term,’’ he said.
Uh...apparently you do.

Anyone at the show or who saw the news that night knows he was bombed out of his mind...not that that's an excuse, but he was running around like a maniac.

Tough times ahead for the Eagles locker room and Mike Vick's brother already contradicting Mike and offering a bounty for Cooper on the field.

lol if there is anyone who has no business speaking out about this, I don't care what he did or what words he said, it's the Vick's. I understand mike as the QB has too, I just find it incredibly hilarious. Marcus can rot in hell

McCoy, however, was the only player to comment on Cooper's slur without requesting anonymity.
Thats because he's a moron. If you really didn't want it to affect what goes on on the football field, you don't add controversy.

Forget his teammates, I wouldn't want to be him going up against the DBs of the NFL.

Good luck going over the middle.

Am I the only one that thinks this whole Riley Cooper thing should have been a non-story?

Probably not. But it's definitely a story.

Agreed. Deon Sanders said something on NFL Network that actually made sense. Basically, he said that until black people stop using that term, it's going to continue to be used by non-blacks.

Cooper was in line to likely be one of their best WR since Maclin got injured. I wouldn't be surprised if he is cut from the team, someone picks him up very quickly.

Cooper isn't THAT good, which is probably why he is expendable at this time even with the problems the Eagles have at WR.

I think the incident got blown way out of proportion. Dude probably could have beat his wife and got less negative pub. Just seems wrong to me.

I'm sure if he were on camera beating his wife in public, there would be extensive backlash. It's just that the incident was caught on film and people are getting an audio and a visual of what he did. Seems pretty obvious to me why this is getting all the attention...it's just easy for the media to use.

I think Screamin' A was saying something similar last Friday. But I can't use him as a point of reference on this subject since he dropped the N bomb on TV not once, but twice.

By no means do I agree with what Cooper said, but players have done much worse things in society and were not only able to return to play in the NFL, but were able to return to their old team.

It's not so much that Cooper said it but how he dropped it. He wasn't quoting "Pulp Fiction".

Things that alienate them from a segment of that team? Its not like what he said had no impact on the players on his team like a(n alleged) murder would.

T.O. is one of my favorite NFLers. He may have an ego, but he always backed it up and was a hell of a receiver.

Agree 100% would love to see him get another shot. Felt the same way when the Steelers brought back Plax last year

My favorite Terrell Owens moment was when he scored a touchdown and ripped a sign off the wall in the end one. Sign said "T.O. has B.O." lol

Unlike a lot of other receivers with obnoxious personalities or egos, Terrell Owens had unquestionable work ethic and production.

I think it would be amazing if he ended up on the Jets. Sanchez, if he made it, would probably collapse upon himself, then it would just be TO v Ryan.

and I didn't mean to override this thread on Sunday, but try doing a search for "NFL" on here and watch what results come back. 8-)
