For this first game, I'll be mod and we'll use my rules because I'm used to that.

So we need four players. Partners will be determined randomly, unless people wanna pick partners.

Juice and Troy Loney have said they're in, so we need two more players.

I have to be gone for a few hours, but then I can randomize the deck and we'll start.

I bid 7 hearts, if you pass i'll take the widow and then lead the first hand. Then whoever takes the trick from then on will lead. we'd need to win 7 out of 10 hands to get the points.

If you were stong in red you'd maybe want to up the bid to 8, if your strong in black you'd have to bid 8 to take control, and you'd know that i'd be more of a red hand.

Sorry if this is too leading...just trying to explain some gameplay.

That's fine, Troy. This first game (and especially this first hand), it's good to offer advice. Without revealing too much, of course.

A reminder as play progresses:

You MUST follow suit if you can. If Troy leads a Heart, you MUST play a Heart if you have one. If he leads a Spade, you MUST play a Spade, if you have one, etc. If you have no card of the suit led, you can play whatever you want. Trump takes any suit (and a higher trump takes that), otherwise, the highest card of the suit led wins the trick.

Also, remember that the JOKER is always trump, so it's a Heart (the highest trump, in fact). And the JACK of Diamonds is also trump (the third-highest trump).
