Re: A Card Game: 500
this thread had the feel of a newspaper column. So the goal is to make the bid number or not. What is result if S didn't make the bid? EW get the points? Or no one get points?

NS: -180
EW: 0
If a team goes to -500 or beyond, that team loses. We sometimes relax that just to keep playing. The goal is still to reach 500 points.

So , when I used to play, the opponents get 10 points for each trick. Redwill..do you do that?
So the score is either 200 - 0 or 200 - 10.
Whenever your ready to deal.

Yeah bidding out your ass and going out backwards is the equivalent of taking your ball and going home. Also yes to 10 pts per trick to the loser.

Meh. I prefer we keep it winner take all. This isn't some pansy sport like hockey, where you get points for losing.

No, we never give points to the losing team for tricks taken. But I can play with whatever rules the mod wants to set.
However, I do want to ask what to do if no one bids.
The group I play with sets the Widow aside (no one gets it) and we just play for ten points for every trick taken (no trump, but JOKER is still highest). I know another way to do it is to reshuffle and start the hand over.
