Re: A little late, but... Breaking Bad???
Right, but why not just keep it? Or have Saul keep it? Or give $1 million to Saul to keep quiet and keep the rest? I'm not sold on my own theory, but it just seems like there's other stuff he could have done rather than have Jesse keep it.

Re: A little late, but... Breaking Bad???
I realllly want this to happen but I'm not sure it will. I'm hoping Hank and Jesse's story paths collide again. Getting Jesse to flip would give Hank his case against Walt and probably be enough to send him running to Saul's "disappearer." I have no clue what Walt would be coming back to ABQ for in this scenario though.cheesesteakwithegg wrote:I do think that Jesse finds out about Jane and/or Brock, and the ultimate showdown is not Hank vs Walt, it's Walt vs Jesse.

And at the very youngest, Walt is 51 and 4 months. After Skyler's suicide attempt on his birthday, Hank and Marie take the kids, and Marie says it's been 3 months when she convinces Skyler to take them back. And then in the last episode Walt tells Jesse he's been out of the business for "about a month." So there's approximately 8 months to go until the flash forward scene.

I hate cliffhangers more than anything else in the world but I'm willing to put up with it this week because it looks like the show is going the direction I want. I really hope Jesse and Hank team up to send Walt to New Hampshire.
The scene with Lydia and Declan was awesome.

Definitely a more "boring" episode than the past few, but it's hard to keep that pace up. Definitely a set-up episode for the ones that are yet to come. Well, my idea of Walt coming back because of Declan is definitely gone now. Who were those guys with Todd? Were they the guys that helped Walt kill all those guys in jail? The Neo Nazis?

I believe that was Todd's Uncle and his gang.
Also agree that it was more of a setup episode. It will be interesting to see where things go with Jesse. It definitely seems like he is ready to break. I'd like to see him snap out of his current funk though.

I mean....I guess it's foreshadowing. It's a stretch at best though.

I didn't think so, I mean its pretty prominent zone in with the ding, ding, ding, ding to end the show. When he was killed the credits did the ding, ding, ding thing tooPensFanInDC wrote:I mean....I guess it's foreshadowing. It's a stretch at best though.

For anyone that likes reading about the show after each episode, I highly recommend reading Andy Greenwald's recaps on Grantland. Insightful and he brings an extremely knowledgeable perspective to his columns.

Yeah, he's good. Simmons also talks BB with several of his guests during his podcast.

I watched this week's episode last night. What I can't figure out is how the old meth operation people (Lydia, Todd, and his crew) fit into Walt's story at this point. I figure there has to be a reason they included that scene other than just to show how the quality has gone down without Heisenberg running the show.

Re: A little late, but... Breaking Bad???
Just watched the episode last night. It wasn't as uneventful as I thought it was going to be after reading the thread. Lydia was already trying to get Walt back in episode 9, so I'm guessing it may relate to that.

I don't think you've seen the last of the interaction between Walt and the Lydia, Todd, Nazis group. Like I said a few posts back, definitely a set-up episode for the future.largegarlic wrote:I watched this week's episode last night. That is a good question. I read a really great prediction on reddit about how one person sees this all playing out and they suggested that Lydia is somehow going to blackmail Walt into cooking again (perhaps by having his family kidnapped). Not sure if that happens or not, but it makes sense.largegarlic wrote:I watched this week's episode last night. Re: A little late, but... Breaking Bad???
Considering this coming weeks episode is called "confessions" I'd say there's a good chance that Jesse spills his guts to Hank and Walt uses Saul's disappearing guy to leave. There's GOT to be a reason for Walt to come back. Family kidnapping is certainly a viable reason for him to come back.cheesesteakwithegg wrote:That is a good question. i think it's pretty clear at this point that they're going to go to extreme measures to get Walt to cook again. i'd say it's almost a certainty that his future giant gun is for their benefit.

Re: A little late, but... Breaking Bad???
Here is the prediction that I read on reddit. This is really well thought out. I don't think it comes true because it would be a lot of stuff to cover in only 6 episodes.

Wow, that includes all the loose ends and sounds kind of awesome. I agree that there's probably not enough time left for things to play out like this, though.cheesesteakwithegg wrote:Here is the prediction that I read on reddit. This is really well thought out. I read somewhere that the guy who plays Walt Jr was surprised at how much of a role he had in the last couple episodes of the show. Haven't seen him at all this year.

I read that too. I was looking for him in this past episode and I don't think I even saw him once.MWB wrote:I read somewhere that the guy who plays Walt Jr was surprised at how much of a role he had in the last couple episodes of the show. Haven't seen him at all this year.
