Of Flacco improving and Ben and the Steelers regressing? It looks likely.

Big Ben is a good bit better than Flacco. Ben has had two season's with under a 90 QB rating, and one was after he almost died in an accident. Flacco has had 1 season above 90.
Tony Romo has never had a season with under a 90.0 QB rating. Romo >>>>>>>>>> Roethlisberger

Ben was having one of his best season's ever last year. So I don't think that counts as regressing. And Romo isn't horrible. He just cannot perform under pressure, like a lot of QBs.

So now maybe roethlisberger is more like a Tony Romo in that he puts up good numbers, but he doesn't win much.

Either way, he's still in that above average QB tier with the guys below the truly elite.

The only mention of Ben was that he was (slightly) better than Flacco. Not that Ben was elite. Unless I missed it, too.

I don't know, I guess i'm simply arguing that the only guys who deserve that big QB money are the elite. Teams are better off in the long run if they didn't give big contracts to that above average tier.

When QB's only passed the ball 20 times a game, you had to be very special to be good. Now that the average is more like 30 and teams routinely throw the ball 40 times you can be less good and have good results, stats, etc. John Elway Joe Flacco is not, but he's at least as good as Ben Roethlisberger and ten or so other NFL QB's.
lol
Not sure whats funny... there are 2-3 top quarterbacks, 20 quarterbacks that are good enough to win, and 7-8 that cost their teams game. If you disagree, have at it, Hoss.

What separates Ben and Flacco is the ability to succeed under pressure. Flacco is the better pure passer, but his mistakes and inability to be consistent are just as negative as Ben's. but I feel that Roethlisberger makes more splash plays than Flacco creates.

Elite (Peyton Manning, Brady), Above Average ( Brees, Rodgers, Ryan, Schaub(if healthy), RGIII, Big Ben, Eli, Kaepernick, Luck, Wilson, Rivers, Flacco, Romo, Stafford)Average

That is how I somewhat rank the QBs.

on the bright side...the bucs are awful and have no chance to do anything, so that dumb play might vault them past the jets for a high draft pick. that guy should get the game ball

adrian peterson...78 yards on his first carry. 15 yards the rest of the game. somehow i don't see him getting 2,500 rushing yards this year.

I couldn't be more stunned. The main problem is that Christian Ponder is an absolutely terrible quarterback. As brilliant as AP is, he has to deal with one of the worst QBs in the NFL.
