The tough **** rule is being enacted. He wasn't on the keeper page this year or the draft list

I feel like the tough **** rule is going to kill parity in this league.

Re: LGP Fantasy Hockey Keeper League
I think its one thing if they aren't on the list, but if you type in their name correctly and a pick immediately comes up, its a little ridiculous. Im not going to argue against that pick, but it kind of seems like you went out of your way to abuse the rule.

Re: LGP Fantasy Hockey Keeper League
truthfully, i didnt. as soon as i picked nilsson i went and looked to see if he was in your list on the sheet and saw he wasnt there. i then searched the entire google document and saw that azkar took him last yaer but didnt list him so it would fall under the tough **** rule

Re: LGP Fantasy Hockey Keeper League
Does everyone realize that every single pick that has ever been made in this league has been made on this website? Why not search the website?

Re: LGP Fantasy Hockey Keeper League
the search feature rarely works for me for some reason so i have been using the google doc. i went to the 2013 keeper page and searched and didnt see it. i normally search the entire document but didnt this time for some reason. i double checked the picks thread and ctrl Fed and it didnt show so i figured it was good

Re: LGP Fantasy Hockey Keeper League
I agree with you, and the pick is fine. I just think we should at least search the site. If you simply do that and see the pick right away, lets just update the players that someone has. Thats a request, not a rule obviously.

I thought it was a dumb rule to begin with. Still dumb.

Re: LGP Fantasy Hockey Keeper League
What happens when someone makes that pick and no one notices that Azkar had him, we go 5 more picks, then someone catches that pick was already made? Its not only not dumb, but its a necessary rule.Kraftster wrote:I thought it was a dumb rule to begin with. Still dumb.

I would have thought so too.Letang Is The Truth wrote:I just assumed that everyone would do that with the invocation of the tough **** rule with granlund lol

Granlund was an issue because Corvi drafted him and when he made the pick, he had a sentence long post. I missed it a few times when I just searched for the original pick. Its not hard to miss the picks if you don't keep track of them. I just have a separate excel document that records what i do with my teams so that i know who i have.

Re: LGP Fantasy Hockey Keeper League
Oh well. That is the fault of the person picking. They get to pick next from whoever is left after they picked. Its not like there's a rookie limit or we've ever had someone "drop" a rookie who maintained eligibility.

It's necessary, and good. Declare your keepers people -- that's what the google doc is for and everyone has access to it.Idoit40fans wrote:What happens when someone makes that pick and no one notices that Azkar had him, we go 5 more picks, then someone catches that pick was already made? Are we children? I think it should be up to each owner to maintain their rookies and keepers.Idoit40fans wrote:I agree with you, and the pick is fine. I just think we should at least search the site. Re: LGP Fantasy Hockey Keeper League
I search the site if I'm ever unsure. The site is going to have every pick ever made. The rule, in effect, strips teams of players that they are entitled to own having previously picked them so that people can avoid the incredible inconvenience of searching LGP. It would be different if we were declaring our keepers on Yahoo! or something. We track stuff on google docs. Try to catch everything but its open to human error doing things across three different sites (lgp, yahoo, google docs). Why such a harsh rule would ever exist does not make sense to me.

Re: LGP Fantasy Hockey Keeper League
If we're doing the tough **** rule, I think we should also have a tough **** II rule. If you pick someone who is on both the OP and the google doc (spelled correctly), then you lose the pick.

Re: LGP Fantasy Hockey Keeper League
As has been said by someone else, the Search feature on this site has never worked correctly for me. I stopped using it years ago. Trying to find threads from months ago is tedious at best.
I do not, for the life of me, understand why it is so hard for anyone to reference the google doc. It's free, it's open and it is easy to update. My entire team history since 2009 is in there.
Mentioing Yahoo is useless as it is only current during the season and does not account for the rookies which we are discussing anyway.

Re: LGP Fantasy Hockey Keeper League
Because we end up with this bull*** discussion going on for days every time such a pick is made. I don't feel I should be responsible for keeping track of everyone else's picks (with rookie picks going back a few years now).Kraftster wrote:Why such a harsh rule would ever exist does not make sense to me.

I just "ctrl f" on the first page where all the keepers are listed. that works just fine for me.Pitts wrote:As has been said by someone else, the Search feature on this site has never worked correctly for me. I stopped using it years ago. Trying to find threads from months ago is tedious at best.

Re: LGP Fantasy Hockey Keeper League
And I do the same in the google doc. Idoit and I work tirelessly to keep those pages updated throughout the draft. But, others want everyone to search any and all draft threads ever created.Troy Loney wrote:I just "ctrl f" on the first page where all the keepers are listed. that works just fine for me.Pitts wrote:As has been said by someone else, the Search feature on this site has never worked correctly for me.
