Good thing my 7 Diamonds bid didn't go through. I was only bidding it to keep Troy and WK from taking an easy win. Apart from the JOKER I had a lousy hand.

I had 5 hearts and was hoping on a wing and a prayer to get something in the widow. But in truth, I bid hearts to keep them from seeing the widow and not really thinking I could win it. Widow had A hearts, 9 hearts, 7 hearts, J hearts and 6 clubs. I could not believe it.

I started with 7D, 5D, KH, QH, 4H, 6H, 10H, KC, QC, QS.

so I tossed the 6C, 5D, 7D, QC and QS to leave the hearts plus K clubs. Was figuring on losing the first round but got lucky that redwill had the Joker and TL had to play the J Diamonds. If TL had had both, could have made the hand come down to the wire.

when I bid last night, I kind of figured the widow would have little given that you and redwill had already bid. I got to work and saw the widow PM this morning and could only muster "wow" in my reply to rylan confirming which cards I discarded. I suspect I won't see a hand like that again.

That widow would have been near worthless with any other suit, and since I only had a single spade, I suspect had I not bid that TL/WK would have been able to take it.

Yeah ... oddly enough, no one is beating down the door to join in the thrills, the spills, the highs, the lows, the side-bursting laughs, the heart-rending sobs ... the never-ending action-packed roller-coaster-ride that is 500.
