Just looked on WPXI, I'm in the 6-8 inch range, but also right next to the 3-6, so I'll expect like 4 inches.

Re: 2013-2014 Winter Weather Thread
As I got more north it got progressively better. Had about 3 inches on the car this morning and the back roads were snow covered. Gotta love the townships - PennDOT won't reimburse them to take care of their roads, so the Twps plow the side roads, yet the state routes are still snow covered.

So the major highways shouldn't be too bad tomorrow, right?
Right?
Not even sure I can trust PennDOT with not making a complete hash out of this.

Supposed to drive halfway across PA tomorrow. In their wisdom, our School District which gives random 2 hour delays and half days throughout the year for teacher training has a full day tomorrow. Hoping they cancel.

Re: 2013-2014 Winter Weather Thread
It better snow more than this. I was working late in my garage last night to swap on my snow tires, and I'll be greatly disappointed if it just rains.
As an aside, every car manual I've ever read cautions the owner not to use an air wrench to put on lug nuts, and to instead use a torque wrench to properly tighten the nuts to spec. Why, then, does every garage—include dealerships—use a ****ing air wrench to slam on the nuts? I had to bang on my lug wrench with a freaking sledgehammer to loosen the lug nuts on my wheels.

Get a metal 6 foot pipe and attach it to the torque wrench. Leverage is your friend.Shyster wrote:It better snow more than this. I was working late in my garage last night to swap on my snow tires, and I'll be greatly disappointed if it just rains.

Re: 2013-2014 Winter Weather Thread
Because when you're on the side of the road and only have that little flimsy lug wrench and it snaps because you put the lugs on with an air wrench and snugged them up to 100 ft lbs instead of the rated 40, you'll wish your dealership put them on with a 4way.Shyster wrote:It better snow more than this.
