I've apparently missed on 2 full houses because the cards I start with aren't worth the bet pre-flop or after the flop.

I am leaving the office at noon today to head out to the cabin. I don't have a computer with me but there is wifi and I can check on my phone. That being said I have no idea how often I am going to check LGP. Hopefully this hand can be done by noon and I can just sit out hands until the weekend is over. Weekend play is slow(er) anyway.
I'm not sure when or if PFIDC is gonna check in. It's not a big deal to fold his hand here, but he'll be in the blinds starting next hand.

The point is that everyone has stuff going on at different times. Now that we're familiar with the mechanics of the game, do we want to set a policy? Up until now, I've just been winging it kinda arbitrarily.

What I'm thinking is giving each player three hours (not including nighttime or weekend hours) and then, as they do in real poker tourneys as seen on TV, another player may call time. At that point I'll give another hour tops.

I like that it's the players who may call time because I'm in a position where I know the hands and the community cards and I don't really want to decide to fold a hand when I know that stuff. For example, I may decide to wait if I know the player has a killer hand or fold a hand if he has crap. That's not really fair.

Thoughts?

I'd just tell folks that they have three hours (or whatever time period is decided on) to respond. No response is a check if possible, or a fold if not.

I wouldn't change the rotation, or folks could manipulate the Blinds. If you're in a Big Blind and you don't respond. You lose that BB.

Changing the rotation is certainly not an option.

Time period would be nice. Allow for time difference overnight. I probably will not be checking the board at 07:00 AM EST, though.

I think blinds should be paid when due. Friendly game, enjoying playing so not going to sweat it either way.

Just set an end time and start time for the "clock" Maybe 7am and 9pm. No clock on the weekend?

I'm glad you said that. Nobody should sweat anything in NHR Games.

I'll work with the three-hour limit, but with exceptions for night, weekends, and when I'm off cavorting with bimbos.

Anyway, since PFIDC said he'd be away, I'm gonna fold his hand.

shaf is up. 8 to call, or can raise or fold.

My thought is that this policy -- you holding the game up for an indefinite period of time in the event you see I have even a marginal, let alone great hand -- should apply to me and only me.
