Looks like I'll be leaving my kitchen faucet slowly drip for the next week or so. Not having my pipes freeze again.

I put in an in ground pool in the summer of 2012. If the pipes survive this winter, I will feel pretty good during future winters.

Definitely drove roundtrip DC/Pittsburgh yesterday while it was snowing like crazy. Just when you think the Turnpike and 70 can't possibly have any more idiots, just add snow.

I dug out my car this morning to make a trip to the store. We got about 7" snow total here in the 'burgh. Nice and loose powdery snow, easy to deal with.

I was going to go to the rivers yesterday evening. Waited until the snow looked to be done around 6:30. Left and got 2 miles out if town. Whiteout. Couldnt see the road in front of me. Turned right back around

The past handful of days and then a few before that the temperature barely got to 20 degrees as a high, we've gotten about 17 inches of snow in the past week or so, still much of it is on the ground...I'll tell you, I'm starting to get into this weather...I don't know why, the last couple days I've been out in it: going to work, going to the market, going to the bar at night, what have you...and I'm kinda feelin it for whatever reason...
Not the wind so much, wind is ****face...I can't stand wind...but it was 17 outside the other day or whatever and pretty much no wind and I was liking it...maybe I ought to move to Canada after all...I'd fit in way better up there anyhow...

I always enjoy the silence that seems to accompany the snow. The rest of the world seems to disappear and slow down.

I played hockey on the C&O Canal today in Washington DC. It was amazing. First time in about 8 years its been cold enough to do this.
