I know there has been some talk in the Pens Affiliates side of the board.

They beat the Binghamton Senators 3-1 in Round 1, led by (statistically) Kobasew, Ebbett, and Dumoulin. Will now face the Providence Diving Ponces.

Do you see him making the team before Pouliot?Jesse wrote:Scott Harrington looks like a future NHL stud.

Re: WBS Pens
Despres, Pouliot and Harrington are our blue chippers, with Dumoulin not far behind.
There isn't and will not be room for all these guys. At least one needs to be turned into a forward, preferrably a similarly young blue chipper waiting for a chance on a big club.

Re: WBS Pens
I cant see up paying north of 3.5M for Niskanen especially with Harrrington and Pouliot so close and Despres worthy of NHL time.DesertPenguin wrote:Despres, Pouliot and Harrington are our blue chippers, with Dumoulin not far behind.

Re: WBS Pens
That is one option. The other option is Orpik and Nisky would be gone this year with Martin gone the following year.DesertPenguin wrote:Despres, Pouliot and Harrington are our blue chippers, with Dumoulin not far behind.

It's not far-fetched to think that the pairings to begin the 2015-2016 season being*
Letang Despres (in before not if Bylsma is coach)
Maatta Harrington
Pouliot (domoulin, bort (if brought back-will still be a rfa), scuds)
That isn't counting Philip either who I think could make the team next year if none of the guys that are UFA are brought back.
*I just plugged in names. I don't have any clue who would be paired with who and 1st, 2nd, 3rd pairing etc
I would say a trade is more likely, but I don't think it's a given as some might think (including myself)

Has Pouliot even been in a pro training camp yet? I wouldn't say he's "so close".

Last 2 years. I want to say 2 years ago, he made it to the final cut but that might have just been a "you were a top 10 pick" pat on the back.Crankshaft wrote:Has Pouliot even been in a pro training camp yet? I wouldn't say he's "so close".

Re: WBS Pens
They're not really competing for the same spot, so it's tough to say. I think Pouliot will may find himself taking a regular shift before Harry does, since he's already the best PP QB in the organization (including the big squad), whereas Harrington probably got slowed up a bit with the Scuderi signing.thehockeyguru wrote:Do you see him making the team before Pouliot?Jesse wrote:Scott Harrington looks like a future NHL stud.

Re: WBS Pens
Also, Baby Pens are now facing Joe Morrow and the P-Bruins in round 2. They have home ice advantage, but it's in that silly 2-3-2 format, so... eh.

Re: WBS Pens
Wheeling swept their first round series against South Carolina and are now down 2-0 to Greenville. They lost 7-3 at home on Saturday and 4-3 in OT yesterday. The only future NHL player that's suiting up for them is Tom Kuhnackl though. (Actually the Nailers goalie, Mike Condon will be an NHLer some day but he is a Montreal free agent acquisition - the Habs/Pens have a dual affiliation). The rest of the Nailers seem to be career ECHLers/AHLers at best, but they work hard. I'd like to see coach Clark Donatelli get a job with the Baby Pens or the Pens as an assistant some day.
I know there's an affiliates page but I figured I'd share.

The Baby Pens play at 7 tonight. Gott try to track that game whilst watching the Pens.
The AHL East first round results were kind on interesting. The 4th, 6th, 7th and 8th seeds won their series. So WBS (6th) plays Prov (7th).

Not exactly what is being addressed here, but what happened to Zach Sill? I thought he was getting close to coming back from that injury and then he just fell of the world.

Game 7 tonight between the Baby Pens and P-Bruins.
Someone once tried to explain to my why Root wouldn't have the WBS Pens on for significant playoff games... I don't get it.

Re: WBS Pens
these baby pens at least go to the net hard. just had another goal waved off cause goalie couldn't play puck.
i still think Harry Z definitely should have been up here all year. plays hard, hits and actually has decent hands.

Re: WBS Pens
baby pens shooting and everything is going in in the second. 5-0 baby pens all goals scored in the second period and still a bunch of time left.
