Re: WBS Pens
I guess that was the start of an avalanche. In epic choke fashion, WBS has it at 5-4 now with 5 min remaining in the 3rd.

Seriously. I was watching this game on my laptop with the Hawks/Kings game on my TV. Boy oh boy...they sure didn't want that one to be easy...knives of ice wrote:um....they truly have learned from the big team. its now 5-4 with about 6 min left in the third. unreal

Gibbons with some razzle-dazzle! I think it was the 4th WBS goal.
Shouldn't have been that close...whew.

Gibbons' goal was incredible.
It's on the WBS Pens website, but for some reason the video is blocked at work and I can't post it.
As an aside: I've been listening to the Baby Pens games online. Sometimes they are difficult to listen to because Mike O'Brien, last year's color man, is now the play by play guy. He's not very good. I really miss Tom Grace on the broadcasts.

Re: WBS Pens
He has an AHL deal with WBS for next season. I would imagine that gives the Pens first dibs on an NHL deal for him, but I'm not 100% certain.knives of ice wrote:anyone know what the deal is with Conor Sheary? i know we have him signed to an amateur tryout do we get first dibs to sign him to a real contract or how does it work? he's been amazing in the postseason scored again tonight

Baby Pens took it on the chin last night, a 5-0 whitewash with less than 20 saves for Maninno. Retribution in the next game.

Game 4 is starting out like game 3. Sloppy play and a dead power play.

When I look at box scores for AHL games the number of penalties and power plays amazes me. Are the games really that much of a disaster or do the refs just suck?

Where does the series stand now? I went to a few Nailers games and that Cody Sylvester could be the real deal.

My AHL viewing experience mostly dates back to the 90s, but I recall it being much rougher than the NHL. More fights, too.Dickie Dunn wrote:When I look at box scores for AHL games the number of penalties and power plays amazes me. Are the games really that much of a disaster or do the refs just suck?

WBS won last night to push the series to 3-2 St. John's.jimjom wrote:Where does the series stand now? I went to a few Nailers games and that Cody Sylvester could be the real deal.

Re: WBS Pens
Watch the highlights, there is one WBSPens power play that must have been 2 solid minutes of domination and picked off clearing attempts, Gibbons levelling someone, Despres going mad, getting in a fight, and it ends with Sill scoring. Okay, it wasn't all on one shift, but that one shift was comical in how long it went, and how many clearing attempts were picked off which eventually led to the goal.Dickie Dunn wrote:WBS won last night to push the series to 3-2 St. John's.jimjom wrote:Where does the series stand now? Harry Z's emotion after Sill's GWG was fabulous to see. Loved it!

FUGLY for sure. And to see Dustin Jeffrey ripping it up for the Texas AHL team, taking them to the finals... funny how that works.PghSkins wrote:Meh, that's the season, 5-0 game 6 loss.
