The problem with a one-time assassination (or any one-time kill) is that there has to be time enough for the killer to make sure he/she isn't doing more harm than good. By that time the killer is often dead.
Unless you're Juice, of course. Then you just kill me straightaway.

I was trying to get MWB to figure out how to "find" you, but with no idea how the hell to do it, since our "see" of you didn't accomplish it.the wicked child wrote:Well, I'm certainly glad that you swayed them.dagny wrote:I got so fixated on possible unions, once our seer found Beren, I was pushing them to try and find a way to form a "union" because Beren(twc) and Luthien(MWB) uniting is crucial to the story. Ask my team, I REALLY wanted you guys to "find" each other!

Re: *** Wars of Beleriand Game Thread ***
twc had a ton of protection from BigMcK since he didn't know who else to protect and we didn't have any good names to give him. I think every odd night or something.
We killed Troy Loney with no intel other than gut feeling from his pattern of play. If mac hadn't been lynched we talked about seeing him. Close one.
Best PM exchange from very early in the game:

redwill wrote:Since the question of colors has come up on the board, I need to say I made a mistake with your House's coloring.
It should be this:
You are Men of the Houses of the Edain. Your goal is the defeat of The Enemy. However, although that is your sole goal, it may not be enough to win. There are other forces at work.
All of you may freely communicate via PM.
slappybrown - Barahir of the House of Bëor
- You are the leader of the the Elf-Friends. You have a special power which will be revealed to you if the conditions are right.
the wicked child - Beren One-Handed, son of Barahir.
- You are the SEER of the Houses of the Edain. You may investigate anyone on EVEN Nights, starting with Night 2. You also have a secret power which may reveal itself if the conditions are right. Finally, you possess one of the three SILMARILS. The importance of this may eventually come to light.
BigMcK - Hurin of the House of Hador
- You are the mightiest warrior of all the races of Men. You are the Guardian of the Houses of the Edain. You may protect anyone on EVEN Nights, starting with Night 2.
dodint - Turin Turambar, son of Hurin, Master of Doom
- You are the limited Killer of the Houses of the Edain. As Men came late to Beleriand, you may first kill on Night 5, then only when the mod tells you. You may not save kills. If you do not kill, the kill is lost. You also have a special power which may reveal itself if the conditions are right.
It really doesn't matter, it's just aesthetic and for my pleasure.

I was so disappoint that the guys kept going after you.dagny wrote:(I bet redwill woulda got a kick out of how into the story I was, behind the scenes. heh heh)
It was immediately after you PMd me how much you were into the game that I had to do the write-up that you were dead.
I was sad.

Sorry for leaving you out of PMs later on. It got to a point where I wasn't sure if you should be sending us things from the dead hah I have played games where dead baddie players wanted to look in behind the scenes after being lynched, but never had them actually send things backdagny wrote:I was trying to get MWB to figure out how to "find" you, but with no idea how the hell to do it, since our "see" of you didn't accomplish it.the wicked child wrote:Well, I'm certainly glad that you swayed them.dagny wrote:I got so fixated on possible unions, once our seer found Beren, I was pushing them to try and find a way to form a "union" because Beren(twc) and Luthien(MWB) uniting is crucial to the story. Apparently, only you could have "found" him. I didn't consider that.

But if anyone wants confirmation, dagny was way more into the back story then rel, MWB, and myself combined times maybe 1000. Not knowing anything about the story didn't hurt our team in the least

We can if they include us, which is usually pretty annoying.
There have been games where I had to tell the players not to include me in their discussions.
Hell, this game I received 75 PMs. Imagine if I had been included in MRandall's team discussions. Yikes.

Glad I wasn't with MR25. I probably would've setup an off-site forum and ran a thread there to keep the restraints from getting in the way.

As I RUSHED through the door from work on the first day, straight to my laptop nearly knocking my boyfriend out of the way, then carried on about greens and reds, Luthien and Beren, silmarils, warz games, seers, angels, attempts on my life, possible unions, elves, vigilantes, canaan being a real name, lynchings, factions, etc.... my boyfriend now truly thinks I'm insane (that we all are).redwill wrote:I was so disappoint that the guys kept going after you.dagny wrote:(I bet redwill woulda got a kick out of how into the story I was, behind the scenes. heh heh)

I'd figured, there was nothing written specifically prohibiting us from continuing to communicate upon death (and elves go to the Halls... I was communicating from there... lol), I was the only one of us intimately familiar with the mythology, and I really wanted to help.

Nah. We chose to see slappy instead of you after we figured out that Finrod was supposed to find Bëor.MRandall25 wrote:PFIDC got all sad after I was killed because he was about to see me and thought that would create the Union![]()

But you technically weren't, given redwill's conditions for the Union.

No, but following the story, Finrod was the first to encounter men. We got a day save and slappy got a night kill because PFIDC saw him. As I posted, The Union was short lived and lost the only battle they fought - we didn't really see a lot of upside there.MRandall25 wrote:But you technically weren't, given redwill's conditions for the Union.
