I'm pretty excited...when my wife and I visited Italy in January 2012, we had an amazing private tour of the vineyard Decugnano di Barbi. It is in the mountains just across the valley from Orvieto, which is an absolute must-visit for anyone visiting the country. The experience was probably my favorite in Italy. My wife loved their Orvieto Classico wine, and I just found a place in California that ships it for a reasonable price. Thinking a case of that will be a great anniversary present in a few weeks, since she hasn't had it since we were there.

We stayed at Fattoria Casa Sola near San Donato, Tuscany, for our honeymoon. For our first anniversary I ordered a couple bottles in a gift set that included winery stemware. When the package arrived, the glasses were completely shattered. But they replaced them free of charge, which was nice. I'm thinking a new gift box this year might do the trick.

This is the weekend of the mojito at casa de Tif. I make mine with agave nectar and ginger ale in place of simple syrup and soda water.

Would have again.

My father is from Salisbury, so I've had lots of Cheerwine....Tried some again recently and it's way too sweet for my taste.

I had a southern themed party at my house on Saturday (redundant, I know) and bought some Cheerwine and Sun Drop. For whatever reason I had never tried Cheerwine before. I expected it to be like cherry Dr. Pepper but it wasn't. It was sweet, but I don't drink soda anymore so I thought I was being biased. The rum mellowed it out some, and it looks good in a glass.

I'm taking a tour of this place in a couple weeks, so far, I haven't had anything from them that was worth their price tag.

I went to their gin party a few years ago when they first released it. It was kind of like Hendricks, meaning more vodka-y and less juniper-y

Did the Wigle whiskey tour this weekend. The tour itself was really great, interesting and fun. They have some great cocktails to choose from for the tour. Afterwards you sit down and get to sample 5 different products.

The aged rye and landlock (rum) were close to good. The white, white rye, and giniver were all pretty harsh. Like Letang said above, not even close to worth what they ask. I can get $10 mason jars of shine that taste better/same than some of their stuff. I even asked the owner what the difference was from what I'm getting in a mason jar to theirs and the answer wasn't much, basically better equipment. Aside from their product being extremely average, it was a really cool setup and we hung around afterwards drinking more cocktails and speaking with the owner. I hope they continue to grow and get better. They recently opened a new barrel house in the north side which you can tour and they go more into the barreling process. They have open dates to the public (pending age) in which you can volunteer to bottle and label their products. They do everything from their warehouse and can only manually bottle 4 at a time, you also get fed free cocktails for helping (hence some of the crooked labels). I highly recommend taking the tour.

been getting into mules recently. got some ginger beer to try the different types. I don't have the copper cups that seem to be what identify the mule as a mule, but oh well. my favorite thus far is the Kentucky Mule. Ginger beer, bourbon, lime, mint, ice.

Bourbon with a splash of a citrus soda like 7up...wow, good. I'm really trying to improve my whiskey/bourbon game. I'm still very much an amateur, but you gotta start somewhere...

What bourbons have you tried? There are many many many good ones, and I've found that bourbon lends itself to good quality at a lower price point than many other spirits. You can get very good bourbons -- good enough to sip straight up -- for 25 bucks.

Yep, that's one of them. Bulleit, Four Roses, Buffalo Trace are all going to run between 25-30 depending on where you live, and all of them are good straight up or mixed. I am partial to Basil Hayden's which is usually around 40.

Was not a big fan of Maker's 46, but some people love it.

i prefer basil hayden to 46. BH is actually my favorite bourbon but in 25-30 range, four roses is my go to. less fond of bulleit. buffalo trace is nice.

Not many, just like mainstream stuff...Jim Beam, Evan Williams, Wild Turkey...not sure if there's really any others I can recall...

Taking suggestions, certainly...

EDIT: I see suggestions above. Thank you. :thumb:
