Indeed. It's not Tull's fault that they (Grammys) didn't know what heavy metal was. I remember watching the awards that night, and laughing like crazy when Tull won. I wasn't really that upset that Metallica lost.eddysnake wrote:shouldn't it be screw grammy's then? Who cares if Metallica didn't win an award and Jethro Tull did, it's the Grammy's!PensFanInDC wrote:Screw Jethro Tull
I actually think they are super talented and I like their music but their 1989 Grammy win still pisses me off.

Re: Let's talk about music
no matter how strange it is to be talking about Tull and Metallica in the same category, it just goes to show you how awesome JT really is. I remember seeing Ian Anderson at a small venue which just happend to be the last show on his tour. He pretty much said, what the hell, let's have some fun and played aqualung straight through for the first set. one of the better concerts I've seen.

I got a Foo ticket for the Camden show. Only a casual fan, but figure it's worth a ticket.

I feel like Gino Vannelli should have a flute that's part of his repertoire

Re: Let's talk about music
No joke. I'm a pretty good musician and I can pick up pretty much any instrument and at least bang something out that sounds half decent. I can't even make a note on a flute. Something to do with the armature of the mouth. They say that it's tough to get the first note but once you are able to play that note you never forget.

I remember when I got my first quality acoustic guitar that I also purchased an "Essential Acoustic Songs" music book. It had Thick as a Brick in it and I spent weeks perfecting it. What a great tune.

A Couple of my kids and I were talking about the old TBS Nite Trax show and laughing about some of the videos. I remember these 2.

Unreleased 80s Ministry with a free download? Yes please.

But late Sunday, Jourgensen posted the 1983 song “Anything For You” — known to fans as “I Will Do Anything For You” after it was played on tour in ’84 — as part of his ongoing “Ministry Mondays” series in which he gives away remixes of tracks largely off of the recent Relapse and From Beer to Eternity albums.
Jourgensen referred to the track as a “rare, never-before-released song from With Sympathy.”
