Re: Current video game being played
Destiny was fun, but became too much of a grind for me once I hit like level 26 or so. It's also way more fun with that game to play with other people or in teams to do raids etc. I know tons of people who are still grinding away at it and having fun, but I just got tired of it.

People tell me it's a bit short, too. I'm level 19 already (I think 30 is max?), but still only did Earth and Moon. Trying to go slow so I had something to look forward to later. I personally enjoy shooting and I don't think this game is meant for a story or character building. It's truly a shooter, but a good one.skullman80 wrote:Destiny was fun, but became too much of a grind for me once I hit like level 26 or so. Re: Current video game being played
Once you finish the main campaign it's all Raid's/Nightfalls/strikes etc after that to level your character up more, which the Raid's can only be done with a striketeam, and the nightfalls/strikes and other stuff can be done alone, but are much easier with a team of people. I mean it's still fun no doubt, just after a while I got bored with it. I may pick it back up later on.Sarcastic wrote:People tell me it's a bit short, too. 32 is the max I think right now level wise. Once you hit 23(I think?) it all becomes about getting light rather than XP to upgrade and that takes quite a bit longer to do.

Just finished DragonAge: Inquisition. Took about 100 hours. I'm guessing my next play through won't take as long

I just went to see if inquisition was avaliable on demand. Its not. Is assassin's creed rogue worth purchasing at full price?

Re: Current video game being played
I spent hours just reading all the codex entries. Now that I have PS4 I'm going to replay it on there. Tried some of it last night, and there's a big difference between PS3 and PS4. Textures were popping in like crazy on PS3, and haven't had it happen once on PS4 yet.stopper40 wrote:Just finished DragonAge: Inquisition. Took about 100 hours. Re: Current video game being played
I finally picked up a PS4 a few days ago (Best buy - $350). Also got 4 games: Alien Isolation, Wolfenstein TNO, Diablo 3 UEE and Shadow of Mordor. Decided to start with Alien. Very nice horror survival game. I play on a 65" in my cave with the lights off and surround sound turned up. Too far up according to my wife. Definitely has me squirming and jumping in my recliner. Fun stuff!!

Got a new laptop for the first time in several years and can finally play Civ V. Bought complete on steam sale for $12. Really liking it a lot. Love the hex and no stacking.

Does anyone have any suggestions for an HDMI to RCA converter? I need one for playing my ps4 when I'm visiting my family. I got one off Amazon, but it has proven to be... Less than satisfactory. It works, but the screen has lines and crap, kind of painful to watch.

Does their TV have only RCA? No component? No VGA? .... anything going from HDMI to RCA is going to be a crapshoot and look pretty bad no matter what. These newer systems weren't designed to hook up to the old school tv's.the wicked child wrote:Does anyone have any suggestions for an HDMI to RCA converter? I think it only has RCA... I'll have to check if it has any other options. I don't expect it to look great or anything, but I also don't want to feel like I'm going to get a seizure eitjer.

Civ V really seemed like a downgrade after IV. I found the removal of religion to be very stupid.Kraftster wrote:Got a new laptop for the first time in several years and can finally play Civ V. Bought complete on steam sale for $12. Really liking it a lot. Love the hex and no stacking.
V is OK but IV was great.

Does anybody else have a really hard time getting Xbox One's party system to consistently work properly? It seems like joining games is never easy. I understand that the 360 has now had 9 years of updates, but the amount of bugs on the Xbox One is super annoying. Is PS4 as frustrating?

V vanilla did not have religion, and I agree that the vanilla did not hold a candle to IV. The expansions addedreligion espionage and some other key elements that really brought to getting together. The final product of V is a very different game than IV still, but it might actually be more realistic more fun, I think.MalkinIsMyHomeboy wrote:Civ V really seemed like a downgrade after IV. Any digital (HDMI/DVI) to analog (component/composite) adapter is probably going to be fairly expensive and still look like crap.skullman80 wrote:Does their TV have only RCA? No component? It needs to convert a progressive scanned image into an interlaced one, and thats not a very common task. Even the DVD/VCR combo players you buy now normally have separate outs for DVD and VHS.

Yeah nocera, I've had so many issues with Xbox. It's one of those things where eventually, everything works. But sometimes it takes me four or five tries to do simple things like:
-View online friends
-Start a party
-Join a party
-Access marketplace
etc

It's ridiculous how difficult things are on the One when they "just worked" on the 360. I read somewhere that hard rebooting is the new blowing into the cartridge.shafnutz05 wrote:Yeah nocera, I've had so many issues with Xbox. Re: Current video game being played
Shadow of Mordor is really fun so far. I'm a Tolkien enthusiast, and it worried me a little bit that it would mess with the canon, but everything is reasonable so far. I even had a couple fanboy moments at some of the things included.
When it was first revealed, people criticized the game for being an Assassins Creed ripoff, but the gameplay actually handles better in some ways. Instead of forcing the player to play a certain way for every mission, it gives you the freedom to approach missions anyway you want. I'm mostly referring to killing captains and Warchiefs. It took Ubisoft years to address this issue. I'm unaware if there is more freedom in Unity as I haven't played it.
I think it's cool when a Warchief finally reveals himself and all the orcs chant his name.

Re: Current video game being played
For the first time in decades I have several new games to play. And I find myself really getting confused as to what the controls are for each game.
I played Bioshock Infinite for a few hours last weekend. When I went back to it yesterday I forgot all the auxilliary controls. Same with Marvel Lego. I forget which buttons do what.

Digital promos suck balls. I ordered the "Last of Us plus Choice of 1 of 4 games" from Amazon, and sometime between when the order was placed and when they shipped my content code the promo changed and they dropped The Last of Us from the promo, so all I got was a choice of 4 games I didn't want. Pretty **** off about it, might return the PS4 to Amazon and wait for another bundle. The receipt/invoice doesn't have any mention at all about what digital content was included so I have no leg to stand on.

Me too. This is honestly the first time they've ever let me down. When they packed my copy of NHL14 loose in a box with a garden hose they offered to give me a replacement with no questions asked. But when I call for digital product code that was part of my order, I get told to go screw.slappybrown wrote:Amazon is good about making this right in my experiencedodint wrote:Digital promos suck balls. I'm going to watch Amazon until the end of January. If another bundle comes up I'm returning this one and rebuying it, they can eat the cost of return shipping/shipping/restocking if they're not willing to do the right thing up front. Also from now on I'll be printing product screens for stuff like this. Can't believe it would just be listed as "PS4 Console" instead of an itemized list of what actually is included with the purchase. Nutty.
heh. From page 683:
dodint wrote:PS4 bundle at Amazon is $399 w/The Last of Us and your choice of: Destiny, NBA 2K15, Far Cry 4, or Little Big Planet 3. Both games are digital.
