Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
Colin Dunlap has extended a kindness and courtesy to me that hardly any other member of the media has. When I need help/advice, I call Colin, and he's never once bemoaned it. He's one of the kindest, well-spoken, professional people I've ever met. And it makes me a bit sick to see people either threaten him with violence on this board, discuss his personal life and his wife and children, or wish horrible things on him.
All because he's a host on a radio show and you don't like what he has to say? Shame, really, that this is the only way opinions can be expressed. Criticize his work, sure. But it's actually sad to me that the moderators of this forum have been negligent enough to allow threats of violence and discussions about a man's wife and children on this board without reproach.
Those of you that want him punched ought to pony up the offer yourselves and see how far that gets you.

I haven't seen any threats of violence, or anything against his wife or kids. Mind you, I just come in to say he's a turd and his voice is awful for radio.Jesse wrote:Colin Dunlap has extended a kindness and courtesy to me that hardly any other member of the media has. Oh I totally get and applaud what you're doing, I had/meant no desire to troll. Was just openly curious. I do believe people take it too far often times here as well.Jesse wrote:You and I have always been cool. Just defending a friend. Saying someone has a punchable face is just an expression. I don't think anyone meant it literally.

By the way, I don't mean it literally.
I'd like to punch the following people but never would:
canaan, slappy, juice, c2i, PFIDC, Columbia, KtK, Malkamaniac, dodint, Troy Loney, c2i again, mac, shad, along with a few others.
People I wouldn't like to punch in the face and wouldn't even joke about:

Not a single person on here is threatening to hurt Dunlap, just because someone wants to punch Dunlap because he does a crappy job on the radio, doesn't mean they actually want it to happen so don't take it so personal.
That being said, just because YOU have a good relationship with the man doesn't change the fact that many people don't care for the work he does because of his awful sounding voice, his bully personality on air and on twitter and because he gives opinions that are ill informed, ignorant and directed towards the lowest common denominator of people. It's not hard to see why people have a low opinion of the man.
Bottom line: Lighten up Jesse. Don't take things so seriously on the internet, especially things that are as pointless as someone saying that they wish Dunlap is punched because of his voice or because someone hates the opinions and arguments he makes on the air or on twitter.

I think he sounds condescending on the air all the time and I've quit listening to TFMS because of that. But I don't wish ill on him or any radio personality.

Re: The Official LGP Pittsburgh Sport Radio Thread
I'm pretty sure that Colin Dunlap can not be worse than the following embarrassments (aka media members):
Dejan
Mark Madden
Paul Alexander
Paul Steigerwald
The "Poni"
The FAN in general is pretty bad. To be honest, I'm shocked that it is still a Sports Talk Station and not a Classic Rock station by now.
