Re: Current video game being played
The Raids are easy, well not easy, but not hard when you have people that know what they are doing. Everyone has to be coordinated to do certain things or you will fail. It takes teammwork, and honestly playing with randoms probably doesn't help, but if everyone has a mic and understands their role they aren't that bad.
I didn't do the most recent raid since I traded off the game a while back, but that's what I remember from when I was doing the raids before I got rid of the game.

Yeah, it was my first time doing it so I'm sure that had an effect.
The final part with the random teleporting to Mars or Venus was the worst part.

Re: Current video game being played
Majora's Mask #D arrived yesterday. Only played a little bit so far... currently waiting for Night 3 so I can end the initial cycle and get rolling.
Beyond that, still been Diabloing. The last patch included a new legendary gem (I believe it is a season 2 gem on PC) called the Gem of Ease... unlike others, it gets socketed in a weapon. Its base effect is +1000 exp per kill, which goes up by 50 per level. But where it really shines is at level 25, it will set the required level of the socketed weapon to 1... so you can use a level 70 weapon w/ a new character... sick. And the exp bonus really adds up early on... and with being able to use such a powerful weapon, you can crank the difficulty way up for a long time and rack up levels at an insane pace.
I had been finding a lot of the pieces for the Raiment of a Thousand Storms w/ my Fire Monk, so I decided to build a lightning monk to see what this set was about. Over the course of last weekend, I took a character from 0 to 70, and with a few lucky drops/gambles, I had the full set bonus. On top of that an Ancient set fist weapon dropped that just happened to be the matching item for my current fist weapon... so another bonus.
The big thing with this set is the full set bonus unleashes 3000% weapon dmg as lightning to all nearby enemies at the end of dashing strike. This is great for clearing mobs in front of you. Kind of hard to aim at bosses though, which sucks. Currently trying to level up some legendary gems for it.

Dying light has become pretty fun now that I've actually built up my character to a point where he can actually fight off zombies. When you first start the game, your character is very weak... almost frustratingly weak at times.

It's a really fun FPS. Really enjoyed playing through it. Felt like Wolfenstein. Lots of gore, blood, and killing nazi's. Can't ask for much more!ajh2298 wrote:Been playing "Wolfenstein: The New Order" on the PS4 and have been enjoying it very much. I prefer that I think. Some games are just too easy from the start. Its supposed to be hard in the beginning.count2infinity wrote:Dying light has become pretty fun now that I've actually built up my character to a point where he can actually fight off zombies. Added 200k to my Diablo 3 wizard's DPS last night. Finally got ramaladni's gift so I was able to buff the added socket on my wand into 10% extra damage the use the gift to re-add the socket, then found a new source that added 4.3% to my dps without losing any health/armor/life points. Added a socket to that and now I'm doing over 1.8 million in dps

I added the Metal Gear Solid codec alert as my ringtone.
I'm tempted to answer "This is Snake", in a gravely voice the next time someone calls me.

That ringtone is a thousand times greater than the Star Trek communicator ring tone.

Any thoughts on The Order: 1886? Was really looking forward to it, but I read that the previews aren't very favorable at all

I have the Order: 1886 perordered. It sounds like its going to be on the short side, but I'm fine as long as it's a good polished short campaign. We shall see. I guess worst case scenario it will look really good haha.

Same here, only commentary I've heard is that it's only like a 5-hour game.
I don't care how good it is, $60 for a 5-hour game is criminal.

Someone out there has played Paradox Interactive's strategy game Crusader Kings II for 10,500 hours, according to a recent collection of user statistics the publisher and developer has released.

There is going to be a pretty decent deal at Target the week of the 2/22 to 2/28. The last few Ubi-Soft games will be Buy 1 Get 1 Free. The ones I remember off the top of my head were Far Cry 3, Assassin's Creed Unity, Assassin's Creed Rouge, Just Dance 2015, Watch Dogs, and The Crew. Also Target will let you price match and combine the B1G1 Free deal.

Re: Current video game being played
Took a Kerbal break and played Driftmoon. It's an indie top-down adventure/roleplaying game with rather old-school graphics (" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). The story is interesting and the characters are well developed. "Charming" is a word that shows up in some of the reviews on Steam, and I agree with that assessment. Combat is minimal and there aren't many options for leveling, crafting, or weapons and armor, but that's sort of the point. The game is supposed to be streamlined. It took me maybe eight hours to play, and it could be done faster if you don't play as an kleptomaniac hoarder.
One downside I can mention for those of you who might care is that there is a mild religious undertone to the game. I honestly didn't notice it for much of the game, but at one point you can find a hidden "holy book" in a library that is actually a fully indexed and readable copy of the New Testament. Once I found that, I realized the motivation for some elements of the plot.

The one review I've read said it took them 11 hours to play through on normal. That's not that bad for the type of game it is. I guess we shall see on Friday though.tifosi77 wrote:Same here, only commentary I've heard is that it's only like a 5-hour game.

Through a translation site since it was non-us site that reviewed it.

11 hours still feels short.
Then again, I just finished Far Cry 4, and Steam says I was in-world for 118 hours, so................

I just beat NES Bionic Commando tonight in about 30 mins, I still have my original copy from 1989 It cost $50 from Circus World........ There's no trophies, no items to collect, nothing. The compliants nowadays from people saying games are too short is nonsense.

Re: Current video game being played
NES Super Mario Bros 3 would take at least an hour per world if you played without warping or skipping around anything. That's about 10hrs of play. Not bad.

Re: Current video game being played
11 hours is pretty much inline for similar games like Uncharted, Tomb Raider, Infamous etc. Everyone is going to be different, but I'm sure that 11 hours wasn't someone exploring every nook and cranny. I like open world games and all, but I'm fine with shorter campaigns as long as they are good. Not every game has to be 100+ hours.tifosi77 wrote:11 hours still feels short.

I didn't realize that The Order does not include a multi-player mode.

Re: Current video game being played
I actually enjoy when games focus on single player stuff. I wish more games would not force multiplayer when it's not necessary. I mean I like playing online with friends, but it's not needed for every single game out there, and sometimes when companies shoehorn in multiplayer it makes the rest of the game suffer.
