http://variety.com/2015/tv/news/gary-ow ... 201433731/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Radio, TV and voiceover performer Gary Owens died on Feb. 12 at his home in the Encino neighborhood of Los Angeles. Owens, who was 80, had been a diabetic since the age of 8.
Owens was probably best known as the announcer on NBC’s “Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In” (1968-73), with his trademark hand-over-the-ear announcing style. On the show, John Wayne once imitated Owens announcing. The phrase Gary created on his KMPC radio show, “Beautiful downtown Burbank,” later became a nightly catchphrase on Johnny Carson’s “Tonight Show.”
Owens also lent his voice to more than 3,000 cartoons, providing the voice of “Space Ghost” as well as Blue Falcon, Roger Ramjet, Powdered Toast Man and even Batman. He was animated as himself in “Garfield and Friends,” “The Fantastic Four,” “Eek the Cat” and “Bobby’s World.”

Have they confirmed that's what it was. It sounds awful, but the first thing I always think in a situation like this is suicide.tifosi77 wrote:That sucks that you can die at 35 from 'natural causes'.

Re: RIP Thread
With the concussions, depression and anxiety he was experiencing, suicide wouldn't surprise me. RIP Mr. Montador.

Re: RIP Thread
That's a real shame. By all accounts a very funny guy. He was on Pete Holmes' podcast around a month or so ago where he actually went pretty in-depth about his drug issues. It seemed like he was on the upswing, which is what makes this news all the more surprising and saddening.

i listened to that podcast yesterday. very eerie...especially when they were discussing death. listening after the fact, he definitely sounded like someone who was in severe trouble.meecrofilm wrote:That's a real shame.
