Favorite Burger
My current favorite is The American Standard at Applebee's. They put this really nice semi-sweet sauce on it and, if you're lucky, you get these little onions that go so well with it. It's a thick burger and just the right size. It's a bit pricy at $10, but it's yummy.

Re: Favorite Burger
I always thought the novelty of Denny's Beer Barrel far outweighed the quality, but that's just me.
Monk's is a fantastic choice, although I would have to go with the Antwerp burger. Sottocenare truffle cheese and $hitake mushrooms.
Lol edited because the filter doesn't like that type of mushroom

Re: Favorite Burger
I've never ordered a burger at Monk's. I always get the mussels, but I do grab a bite of my wife's burger every time. She is not a mushroom fan, so I've never had the Antwerp. I might move away from the mussels next time and try that burger though.shafnutz05 wrote:I always thought the novelty of Denny's Beer Barrel far outweighed the quality, but that's just me.

c2i: The play is mussels for your appetizer and the burger/frites for the main course.

Re: Favorite Burger
haha, I would if my wife would eat mussels with me. I'm not sure I can eat a full bowl of mussels (which are no good left over) AND a burger and then not hate myself for 24 hours afterwards.columbia wrote:c2i: The play is mussels for your appetizer and the burger/frites for the main course.

This little beach burger shack in the middle of Frederick, MD.

It looks and feels like it should be on the boardwalk in OC. Best burger I've ever had. Wags is a close second, also in Frederick, MD.

Re: Favorite Burger
I'm surprised myself. I avoided that place for several years because everything I'd buy tasted the same. Looked different, but tasted the same. But I tried their burger recently and loved it. I think many of these specialty burgers I come across are served too large, btw. The one at IHOP is good, but I have to bite it from the top and bottom, separately. There is this restaurant near where I live where their burger is so large, I can't finish it and there is no way in hell I could fit it in my mouth either. The Applebee's one is perfect for me and, again, has a nice sweet flavor to it.viva la ben wrote:Denny's Beer Barrell makes the best burgers.

I like BRGR's Fire in the Hole and Burgatory's Morty's Steak House. After being disappointed by Double Wide Grill's food every time I went there I tried a burger and really liked it.

Re: Favorite Burger
there's a small chain here in ATL (2 locations in Orlando as well) called Marlow's Tavern. they have an AWESOME burger and the fries are good too. most importantly they cook it a perfect mid rare every. single. time.
since I started using a cast iron pan I've gotten pretty cook at cooking burgers at home as well.

I used to be a big fan of Burgerz and Dogz, and its still good, but their prices are outrageous anymore for what you get (at least compared to when they first opened).stopper40 wrote:That was my first thought.viva la ben wrote:Really Sarcastic, Applebee's?!
