the three that I immediately think of are Napoleon (as if you couldn't tell from Idiot's nan's thread), Gandhi and Da Vinci

Genghis Khan, Pope Leo I, and simply because of his oddity, Hong Xiuquan & the Taiping Rebellion. It's just such a weird part of Chinese history.

The stories of the one guy that does great deeds/sacrifices in war (like Unbroken's Louie Zamperini) are usually what really resonate with me, though.

I don't know 3 people, but there are 3 time periods/events that occurred that I would love to go to (as long as I was invincible and couldn't get shot/killed):

- the Revolutionary war period, especially that Concord/Lexington confrontations
- D-Day on the beaches of Normandy
- Crusification of Christ

Those last two are especially disturbing.

Why are they disturbing? They are significant moments in history.

People getting mowed down by machine guns and a guy getting tortured to death. Not things i'd like to be present for.

Times I think would be fascinating to observe...

- The decision by the US to use the atom bomb on Japan. Not the actual usage, but the discussion up until Truman gave the OK. That has to be one of the hardest decisions of recent history.
- Commodore Perry's expedition to Japan in 1853. Included would be a 100% accurate translation of Japanese by a robot or something.
- Creation of the Declaration of Independence (1776).

I don't think the first thanksgiving meal would be that great and I wouldn't want to ride a boat with stinky animals. So no.

I thought everyone knew it was Harold. It's even in the prayer: Our Father, who art in Heaven, Harold be thy name.

Geez.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hack_Wilson" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I hope nobody ever breaks Wilson's record of 191 RBIs. He's Ellwood City, Lawrence County and western Pa's sports claim to fame. He was buddies with Babe Ruth who basically took care of him post baseball while he was drinking himself to death. Son of alcoholic parents in early 1900's;really tough upbringing
