Lance Moore was released, and the Steelers reworked Gilbert and Mitchell's contract.
1) That unfortunately means Mitchell is coming back;
2) They're somewhere around $9M under the 2015 cap;
3) About half of that will go to their draft picks, so they still have to clear room;
4) The big money will come if/when they work something out long-term with BRoeth;
5) They're really stalling on making a decision about Polamalu.
I hope he's retiring. Seeing him in another team's jersey would just be sad, but I've got a feeling our collection of old guys might look to reunite with LeBeau in Tennessee so they can all embarrass themselves together for a year and then retire.
This Troy situation could get very messy. Most people in my area act like hardcore fans but do not understand the business behind the game and are going to be very upset when he's released (I think he will be released instead of retiring because I feel like he will want to play another season or 2).
Hoping Mitchell can have a better season but not sold on Thomas yet.

It's going to be just like when Hines was cut, yinzers will be up in arms about how they're disrespecting Troy

exactly, I was glad he was cut and it drove me nuts how upset people were.

I think this is different from the Hines situation though. When you have leaks from within the organization that they hope he retires, it probably won't end well.
Troy had concussion issues in college; his wife has been qouted that she wants him to retire.
The poster was right who said he's been done for 2 years. The Steelers will be better off without him but I hope he quits for his own well being
Keisel gone.As far as Cam Thomas being "safe"; Keisel is one of numerous DE's that could play better with one arm that Cam Thomas could if he had 4 arms. He has to be high in the top 10 Steeler worst FAs ever signed. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12450 ... api_public" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It's always a sad time when a legend doesn't know when to hang it up and the team has to walk away for them. I really wished Troy would have done it on his own accord, but I like that he won't be on the field anymore.
If Kiesel were healthy now I'd think he'd be back, if his rehab works out this summer he could still be back again. It also wouldn't hurt to try to keep Harrison on the radar but he could also try out Tennessee too with Lebeau.
They'll get a few bargain basement types. They also need to extend Ben, Heyward and hopefully Beachum. Pilus the cap savings so far also have to help with their draftees. They should get another 6 mil from Troy and 1.5 from dumping Cal Thomas.
