Yep, i dont know what they were doing but after that one big year they should have leaned on him more. He basically split carries with stewart for a while. Im not sure what he has left, but he will definitely be helpful early on.ulf wrote:I like deangelo Williams. I think carolina really misused him in his time there. Wish we could have gotten his 2010 self but I'll take him as a #2.

He was better on inside than outside last season, but he would definitely be an upgrade for the Steelers.ville5 wrote:Traffic cone #1 come on down? Patrick Robinson finally making an official visit this weekend.

I'm just happy that he's only the second highest paid player in the NFL. That way they can definitely fill all the other holes on the roster.Idoit40fans wrote:I think we all know how troy loney feels.

Opens up a little over a million in cap space for this season, but I look forward to seeing how the Steelers restructure this deal in 2 years to kick the cap hit further down the road.

It beats the alternative of having lots of cap room and a gaping hole at QB.Dickie Dunn wrote:

Re: Official 2014-2015 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Right. The main issue with the team was their reluctance to part with pieces back around like 2010 and 2011. It was like they finally discovered cap circumvention and completely forgot why it was a good thing for them to limit that practice in the past.Rocco wrote:It beats the alternative of having lots of cap room and a gaping hole at QB.Dickie Dunn wrote:

The problem is how to deal with major depth issues and replace pieces on defense.

It'd be really nice to have the $8.58 million in cap space that Lamarr Woodley will be taking up this season. Six percent of the cap going to that slug really sucks.

Had Arizona not signed him, I was hoping the Steelers would bring him back just for the humor of paying him the league minimum while he counted for $8.5M in dead money. Not surprising but the Steelers were 4th in failed completion percentage by their offense. Shows what the stat nerds know- Todd Haley regards every 1 yard pass as a victory.

not for nothing, but we did have the league leader in passing yards at qb, as well as a top 3 RB and WR. are we really sure that haley is incompetant?
