Why is the front page of LGP.com never updated? It hasn't been updated since December.

wasn't there a recent article saying Pittsburgh was one of the best cities to live in too? If it's so great, why is everyone so unhappy?Tico Rick wrote:Pittsburgh is second most unhappy city in the U.S.:

If memory serves, it's a great city to live in because of cost of living, healthcare/number of hospitals and it is currently going through a bit of a renaissance in redefining what the city is... I'd guess those things factor into happiness a little bit, but I'd see them as two separate things.

I think anger and rage levels are directly correlated with the amount of time a person spends commenting on the internet and driving in traffic.

I wonder what metal, and in what form it was in the boxes... I'm assuming it's dust or powder.

Re: General discussion thread
Just scanned through this morning... appears as though they had numerous polls asking essentially that question, just worded differently and combined all the polls together. They also factored in other things like race, sex, income level, rates of suicide, and a few more that I may have missed to develop the life satisfaction percentage you see on the maps and rankings.Idoit40fans wrote:How is that information collected? Are they just asking people to rate "life satisfaction"?

It's because everyone is so used to Pittsburgh's greatness that they've become spoiled, and anything less than a Stanley Cup makes them unhappy.eddysnake wrote:wasn't there a recent article saying Pittsburgh was one of the best cities to live in too? As c2i said, low cost of living and good health services make it a good city to live in, but I think the climate, while it is moderate compared to places like Boston or Minnesota, accounts for a lot of unhappiness. The abundance of gray days due to the Great Lakes effect is definitely a downer.

Re: General discussion thread
I'm pretty sure it was the metro area, as it was a rating of metro areas of over 1 million people.Letang Is The Truth wrote:also i would be curious if that was measured in the city limits, metro area, etc.

Being on the list definitely makes sense then. I can imagine few things more miserable than living in Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, or Westmoreland County.Tico Rick wrote:I'm pretty sure it was the metro area, as it was a rating of metro areas of over 1 million people.Letang Is The Truth wrote:also i would be curious if that was measured in the city limits, metro area, etc.

Re: General discussion thread
I wasn't expecting any bonus at all this year so I'll take what I can get. The raise I expected though it was lower than normal across the company. Oh well.. it pays the bills and im happy to have full time work at a job I don't hate.
