It's amazing what happens when you put a guy out there who knows the system. All he has to do is not suck and it appears Landry doesn't suck.

Looking ahead: Steelers are going to have to win both vs. the Bengals.

Jones looks poised. But he had such a crap camp and preseason. I give him kudos for taking advantage of this opportunity.DelPen wrote:It's amazing what happens when you put a guy out there who knows the system. All he has to do is not suck and it appears Landry doesn't suck.

For the division. Just concerned about the WC. Beat the chiefs and Bengals once in in good shape for that.Lt. Dish wrote:Looking ahead: Steelers are going to have to win both vs. the Bengals.

I've had enough of wild cards the past couple of years, though.

Re: Official 2015-2016 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Landry Jones certainly impressed. I didn't think he had it in him. He had limited success in the preseason. But as far as I recall, it was against backups.
On a side note, let's get Silverback signed to a 5 year extension ha.
Antwan Blake certainly has taken a step back. Let's hope he can get back on track.
Anyone else getting tired of Antonio Brown's little hissy fits on the field? I understand his competitiveness and he's near the top of the WR class and wants to make all the plays. Throwing his arms up on the underthrow by Vick is childish and uncalled for. Act professional.

Re: Official 2015-2016 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
How much did Landry play with first team players on offense? Guessing not many in preseason.
Blake was abused all day but was it more because he had a bad day or did he get more responsibility with Allen out? His tackling has been crap but he stuck Fitzgerald really good in the 4th.
I think the last three weeks showed that Ben makes very good WR's look excellent. Wallace, Holmes, Brown, two of the three were amazing, left, and were ordinary. I hope Brown sees this and tones it down but if his ego gets too big he can be replaced in this system.

Didn't see yesterday's game but today's article about Ben practicing this week mentioned Vick had dirt in his eye. What the what?

Re: Official 2015-2016 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
I think that was on the play where Hockuli sent him off for concussion protocol. He dove to try to get a first down and his helmet hit the grass and someone kneed him in the head. Didn't look bad and if his eyes were irritated I can see why refs were cautious and thought he needed checked.Admin wrote:Didn't see yesterday's game but today's article about Ben practicing this week mentioned Vick had dirt in his eye. Or it could have been a different play, not entirely sure.

Re: Official 2015-2016 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
If Vick can't run he is even more useless. Big picture though he shouldn't even be in consideration to play. Landry is capable and Ben will be back this week or next week as the starter. If he goes down again it would serve the franchise better to have Landry finish the season as the starter so that we can fully determine if he can be the backup for a while and interim starter when Ben is finally done.
