"I felt confident in our ability to do it. Obviously we didn’t. But those are calculated risks you take during football games.”
- Mike Tomlin on his choice to put faith in the defense for a stop after the late field goal.
It makes me sad this is a real quote.

So if you rush only three guys on 6 people how in the hell do you allow a pass for a TD?
Bigger question, how do you only score 6 points vs the Colts in a half?

and....crickets in here when they are just dominating another NFL team who was at least leading their horrible division?
This team can go into Cincy and beat them, no question. The difference will be pash rush. We press his receivers and force Dalton to hold the ball, he will struggle.

This team can go anywhere and beat anybody and go anywhere and lose to anybody. They are wildly inconsistent and tend to play up or down to competition. Wouldn't be surprised if they beat Cincy and Denver then lost to Baltimore and Clevelend. Well, maybe I'd be a little surprised if they lost to Cleveland, but not shocked. The Snapshot wrote:This team can go into Cincy and beat them, no question.

Pats look mortal after losing their best WR. Only "good" teams to not have big injuries this year are the Bengals, Cardinals and Panthers. Each of them is one key player loss away from exposing some huge holes.
Hopefully this team can win one more game than the Jets and Chiefs to get the 1st WC spot and go to Indy and then somehow Cincy gets a bye and we go there next round.

Listened to Buffalo ESPN radio this afternoon. John Clayton was being interviewed by the Buffalo locals. He was saying every team is terrified of the playing Steelers in the playoffs. The problem is the Steelers probably have the toughest road to get there.

It's relative. We should be the Browns and Ravens and can beat the Bengals and Broncos. I would not be surprised to see us go 3-1 or even 4-0 provided the offense keeps going.Humperdink wrote:Listened to Buffalo ESPN radio this afternoon. Jets have Titans, @ Dallas, Pats, @ Bills.I'd say that is 2-2 and maybe even 1-3 and 0-4 is not inexplicable.
Chiefs have Chargers, @ Baltimore, Browns and Raiders. That looks like 3-1 if not 4-0.
Win one more game than the Jets. and two more than the 6-6 teams. It's doable.

Mitchell and Blake are just horrible at making routine tackles.

This game is full proof that NFL officiating is complete dog crap. Can't even make a competent, routine call about forward progress.

It's not likely, but we can still win the division. Dalton possibly being done for the year doesn't hurt.DelPen wrote:It's relative. Oh no. Mike Mitchell is hurt. Who will they get now to not make routine plays?

Ravens 11th vs. run, 13 vs. pass. What does Pittsburgh do? 14 runs so far, 7 passes. Typical conservative BS vs. inferior opponents.

You take what the defense gives. Forced a throw and it was picked.

That was just stupid play by Ben. 4 Ravens around with Heath unmanned underneath. The stupid conservative play calling is what costs them so many games vs inferior opponents.

How does this team manage to look so good and so bad at the same time?

This team is going to miss the playoffs because they couldn't beat the Ravens and the Jets could beat the Patriots. That's swell.

Re: Official 2015-2016 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
So a 10-6 year but still missing the playoffs. Gaping holes in the defense that have yet to be addressed in years due to bad drafting and an offensive coordinator who tries to look smart instead of calling plays that lead to success.
But it will be blamed on injuries like last year for not succeeding and nothing will change.
Colbert and Haley need to go regardless of where this team ends up even if we luck into a Super Bowl.

As the best team to not make the playoffs I look forward to drafting another ILB to try to play outside at #20
