Are we at the point of the season where we can look at Taillon and Bell as every day players without messing up contracts and rights etc? Taillon has looked good, Bell is hitting well so far in his pinch hits, hope he can get some 1B action in soon when the opponent isn't one we need to beat.
Not sure what this team needs to do that will make a difference. If Cutch and half the starters weren't having a bad season I would think about moving Glasnow to put us over the top but we aren't there this year.
I'd rather see Taillon, Glasnow and Bell with the team and getting experience now so next year some of the holes we have every year should be filled.
What a frustrating & disappointing weekend! Not only did the Bucs get swept by one of the worst teams in MLB, but I somehow lost a pair of expensive sunglasses at Fort Necessity NB yesterday.
Season pretty much on the line. Taking a 6-5 lead into the 9th. Watson has two outs and an 0-2 pitch on Carpenter. High fast ball home run. Then a double on the same pitch. Then a home run on another high fast ball. Then another home run to trail 9-6.
Just awful. I haven't seen a team have its better players choke at the worst times than this team has all year. It's not usually a team suck, it's just been one key guy does something really bad and screws over everyone else.
Final home game rains and declared a tie. Perfect cap to a weird season at least at home.
Pirates originally tweeted that fans could exchange the ticket for a game next year before MLB actually decided to call the game a tie so no exchanges. Kind a dick move to not honor that still.
Bucs get Antonio Bastardo back from Mets; Mets get Jon Niese back.
What a terrible trade Niese was. The Pirates give up Walker for that stiff Niese. Then realizing he is terrible trade him back to the mets for a guy they could have easily signed. Great moves Pirates!! (sarcasm)
