Officials don’t know how to watch a replay in the Bengals game.

How did Alonso not get ejected immediately after almost killing Flacco on Thursday Night? Hate the Ravens but no QB should expect to get targeted in the head with a shoulder while already sliding.
The NFL really dropped the ball here.

NFL doesn't have quite the same protocol as college football, where officials can review a potential targeting play and make an ejection. I didn't memorize the 2017 NFL offseason rule changes, but pretty sure that wasn't added to the rulebook.

Thankfully they added the rules you can’t assault the goal posts though.Cu11en wrote:NFL doesn't have quite the same protocol as college football, where officials can review a potential targeting play and make an ejection. Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Get rid of the slide rule. The QB should be protected in the pocket. Outside the pocket, just another player. QB gets hurt trying to extend plays outside the pocket behind the line instead of throwing it away. Running downfield, a QB needs to get out of bounds or give themselves up earlier than when someone is 2 yards away.DelPen wrote:How did Alonso not get ejected immediately after almost killing Flacco on Thursday Night? The game is fast and QB needs protection in the pocket. The onus can't be put on the defense once outside the pocket.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Sitting at 6-2 into the bye and control seeding for the AFC if we win out since we would beat the Patriots and Chiefs head to head for a tie breaker. So does the offense get their act together? Or will this be another year cut short for whatever reason?
Juju emerging as a real threat for the long bombs. Hopefully Bryant will realize he needs to actually try to play well if he wants a job someplace next year.
Really need this team to win or at least get to the Super Bowl so someone hires Haley away. I’m sick of his inept play calling that kills red zone possessions this year.

From all accounts Bryant's effort isn't the issue.
Ben has all but pleaded in the press for weeks to get Bryant more involved.
This has EVERYTHING to do with Tecmo Todd's preferred set of 2-3 TE's/FB over what should be done for this team which is three wides.
Any other coach who removes a talent like Bryant from the red zone for stone hands Vance McDonald is an idiot.
Haley gets a free pass.
They should use Brown, JJSS, and Bryant as the base package.
And Haley needs to get out of their way.
If this team doesn't win 12 games? The regular season is a failure.

I don’t care about the NFL except the Steelers but could both Watt and Juju win rookie of the year for defense and offense? Both have been huge on both sides of the ball.

Rogers trying to show up Bryant in who can be a bigger detriment to the offense.

What could the Steelers get for Bell? Any chance they could get a 1st round draft pick?

Because the offense looked too good no huddle now they get to think about Haley’s garbage calls more and this is what happens.

Shazier could be in seriously bad shape with that hit. Thats what you are told to never do making a tackle. Hope he’s OK and can still walk.
