Not sure if anyone caught the drama earlier in the week, when TSN Reporter out of Edmonton Ryan Rishaug made the following comment about Oilers goalie Al Montoya:

Al Montoya doesn’t talk on game days. Needs to focus. Only Oiler who does this. Why should it be different for him? Only conclusion is that he’s more fragile in his preparation, or he’s ducking responsibility with this silly loophole. Neither are great qualities for a goalie.

He took a ton of flak for this, especially his use of "fragile" a day after the whole #BellLetsTalk campaign. Former goalies, agents, reporters, etc all chimed in that it isn't rare at all, some goalies do talk, others don't. Rishaug continued to push the issue. The Oilers lost that night 4-3 in OT. At 10 seconds in, the guy asking the question about "getting the feeling the team would battle their way back into the game" is none other than Ryan Rishaug. Safe to say Montoya heard the Twitter chatter from Rishaug, and is already looking away and ignoring Rishaug before he finishes question, and then simply asks if anyone else has a question.

Montoya FTW!

There is this attitude about certain sportswriters, not sure what it is. I think it could be labelled a critical spirit - must find a negative aspect somewhere to write about. Not all of them have it.

Like so many things, there are two sides to the story and both are right and wrong.

Rishaug can ask questions, but there is a line, and he was dancing it for sure.

Montoya can snuff any reporter he choses to if he feels he's been wronged.

This is nothing compared to what Phil experienced in Toronto.

I think what he be saying is Kessel is not a goalie. Not that there is anything wrong with being a goalie.
