Might get some help from Vegas today, too. 0-0 after one period with Jersey.

Look out for Florida. On a nice run and 3 games in hand on most teams ahead of them. Playoff bound as the standings are currently...

Re: Other NHL Games
B's vs Lead Wings. B's up 2-0 less than a minute into the game. Much to my surprise, the Wings came back and the deficit is one goal. 3-2 after one period. But not before Backes blindsides/head shots Frans Nielsen in the final minute of the period. The call? Roughing. Gag me. Should have been 5 and a game.
Edit: Neilson out for the game. NHL player safety concerns are a joke.

Charo fumbles, Mantha scores. 5-4 B's near the end of the second.

Flyers vs. Bruins. Should be a good one.

If it weren't for the Predators TV crew Edwards/Brickley would be the worst in the league. Edwards is a complete buffoon.Humperdink wrote:Flyers vs. Bruins. Should be a good one.

Oh I completely agree. Edwards is such a ham bone. Recall that Edwards called Matt Cooke Sirhan Sirahn (the assassin of Bobby Kennedy). Was forced to apologize. This from the team that employ Marchand. Brickley adds nothing to the broadcast.NashvilleCat wrote:If it weren't for the Predators TV crew Edwards/Brickley would be the worst in the league. Surprised the Flyers are hanging with the B's. So much for the second night of a back-to-back factor.

Re: Other NHL Games
Brickley is a lump but he's better than Mason. Edwards is a homer who ignores the Bruins cheap stuff and dives but (as you pointed out) loses his mind when someone else does it. Second-worst homer in the league.Humperdink wrote:Oh I completely agree. Edwards is such a ham bone. Recall that Edwards called Matt Cooke Sirhan Sirahn (the assassin of Bobby Kennedy). Yes. Bruins just took the lead against philly with 22 seconds left! Regulation loss would be great!

Re: Other NHL Games
Jack Asswards thinks hitting the post with 7 seconds left is "just as good" as an empty netter. Flyers did manage a shot but didn't score.

Ha ha, I am on board. That was sweet. Nothing cuts your heart out like a last minute loss.KG wrote:Yes. Bruins just took the lead against philly with 22 seconds left! Regulation loss would be great!

I feel dirty celebrating a Marchand goal. Honestly hate him more than any of the Flyers.Humperdink wrote:Ha ha, I am on board. That was sweet. Re: Other NHL Games
Flyers lose
Devils lose
Caps lose
All in regulation. And a splendid time was had by all.

Re: Other NHL Games
So the Preds might finish as the top team in hockey and their reward is a first round series in the west coast. Seems like an easy solution is allow the top conference seed pick which wild card team they want to play.

Re: Other NHL Games
Oh look, another phantom goalie interference call for the Leafs. If you're going to tell teams to stop complaining it's not going to work if you reinforce the complaints with favorable calls.

Re: Other NHL Games
So, anybody have a better "strangest goal ever scored" than the one last night by Goligoski against Cam Ward?

Now that was funny. Poor Cam Ward. The other strange thing is that Zac Rinaldo is still in the league.FLPensFan wrote:So, anybody have a better "strangest goal ever scored" than the one last night by Goligoski against Cam Ward?

Re: Other NHL Games
Never seen a goal like that ever in over 45 yrs at any level of hockey. Amazing
Got to give it to the Devils, winners of back to back against Pens and TB with the last wild card spot being threatened by the Panthers.
Over in the West, about everyone wrote off the Blues when they traded Statsny and lost Boumeester for the season, yet have clawed back into a wild card spot on a 5 game winning streak along with the real hot again Avs. Kings on the outside looking in.

Re: Other NHL Games
New Jersey is the only team that's beaten Tampa three times this season and if I'm not mistaken, they've also defeated the Pens three times.
Saw St. Louis in person early in the season and thought they looked like a fairly complete team. I'm surprised they're a fringe playoff team and that it took a surge to get back into contention. Wouldn't mind seeing them qualify.

Winnipeg-Nashville was a lot of fun to watch Sunday night. Would make for an interesting playoff series.

Rags getting embarrassed at home against the Craps. Down 3-0 after a mere 9 minutes. Of course, Ovenchicken scored from the left dot on the PP.

Dallas' demise started around a statement loss to the Pens and now they are up to 8 in a row in the loss column and can forget the playoffs. Not stellar work, Hitchcock. The team should be better than what they have shown the last few weeks.

Re: Other NHL Games
Rags vs Tampa Bay tonight. During the second period, a Tampa Bay player commits a mild hook on a Ranger player. Ref raises his arm.
Rags pull their goalie for the extra attacker. During the delayed penalty, Tampa Bay commits a significantly more egregious hook against the Rags. The Ranger player was heading to the net and was spun off the puck with a hook. No call. Can't put a team 2 men down in a one goal game. NHL officiating remains "turrible"
