Stupid tab advertisement
Any one else overly annoyed at that stupid ad with the tab that keeps sliding halfway up the page one EVERY page??
(NOT Pens related other than I can't see half the comments about the Pens unless I click the little reducer arrow)

I have not seen it as of yet, but you are not the first person I have heard mention this. Can you tell me WHAT it is an add for? I'm going to try and contact Admin to let him know.Pitts wrote:Any one else overly annoyed at that stupid ad with the tab that keeps sliding halfway up the page one EVERY page??

Re: Stupid tab advertisement
It holds various ads. It just keeps popping up. I have RJ's email, just didn't want to bother him about it. He'll see this soon enough.

Try using Firefox - it is a much better browser for filtering out ads.

Re: Stupid tab advertisement
Interesting - my Firefox browser keeps all ads away (I don't like Chrome). I might have a browser extension installed to block ads, something like this:Pitts wrote:I'm actually in Firefox. Brave browser will block ads. No extension needed.murphydump55 wrote:I'm getting the same when viewing on my phone.Daniel wrote:FLPensFan wrote:I have not seen it as of yet, but you are not the first person I have heard mention this. On a Corporate phone, downloading apps are a no-no. The ads are overwhelming. Google is the **** ****. **** google. **** the Google ads.

Try changing your DNS to Adguard's, 94.140.14.14 and 94.140.15.15. Most commercial VPN's also have some sort of ad blocking as well, such as Threat Protection Lite (CyberSec) from Nordvpn.

Re: Stupid tab advertisement
Ads are back and even more intrusive than before. The one that pops up the most is for 'Attorneys Near You.', followed by 'Temuu' cheap Chinese ****.
The top banner ads are still there, but now it is a full page requiring me to have to search for the 'X' to close it.

Re: Stupid tab advertisement
I use Samsung mobile internet browser. I get the full page ad that pops up when the forum switches from one page view to the next.
I haven't blocked it because I'm hoping admin gets credit even if i don't click it. Though I've accidentally clicked it a couple times as it doesn't always pop up.

The worst are a couple hockey sites I visit. All four edges close in, minimizing the f'n screen!!!! GrrrrrrrBigMcK wrote:Ads are back and even more intrusive than before. The one that pops up the most is for 'Attorneys Near You.', followed by 'Temuu' cheap Chinese ****.

I honestly try and keep the ads to a bare minimum to cover costs.Mad City Mike wrote:I use uBlock Origin as my ad blocker and I don't see it.

Admin, Great to see you are alive and (hopefully) well!
To cover the costs of the site and keep this place up and running, I am okay with the current volume.
