I've only seen Sully asked a tough question about the PP once and that was last year in March or April after a loss. He was quite irritated and pretty much said "You and the fans have no idea what you're talking about. Advanced stats .....blah blah blah".

He does and Sullivan is u8sually not even in the picture when Reirden is talking and on the board with the PP unit.FLPensFan wrote: Wed Nov 22, 2023 9:42 pmMadden was claiming the other day that Reirden doesn't really have much of the PP responsibility. It's really Sullivan. I haven't paid much attention to see if Reirden is actually whiteboarding things on timeouts or not.Dynasty1970 wrote: Wed Nov 22, 2023 9:40 pmReirden has compromising pictures of Sully with farm animals…..it’s the only explanation for him remaining behind the bench.

Seeing Reirden with the white board at the end of the game gave me less confidence than if the team just hung out and had a water break for a few minutes instead.

Jarry played an excellent game, made numerous tough saves.
Karlsson had his worst game IMHO.He is 1 guy that will bounce back next night.
Malkin was dreadful, skating around in a fog, looked like a guy with no interest in competing,Yet his pass to Sid with 15 seconds left almost salvaged a point.
Letang with early giveaways, questionable decisions and a brainless play off the last face off.
A 1 Line Team that missed Rust and his game tonight.Lines 2-4 black holes all night.
0-5 PP. 1-21 last 8 Games. 7 PP Goals in 18 Games. Continuing to go with Malkin running the PP,sticking with the perimeter play, mindless pass after pass.Fireable Offenses for Coaches, who refuse to make necessary changes or system adjustments.
So is Sully's excuse the 3 "R's" -missing Rust,Rakell and Ruhwedel?

So 9-9 at the Thanksgiving break. Still can't beat the Devils, Rangers and Canes. Power play is still garbage. Feels a lot like last season part deux.

Clearly the Pens need to follow suit and fire a guy named Mike Sullivan and promote a mysterious stranger named Matt Cañada.

Went to Penguins/Bears game tonight. I know we lost 2-1 but man Blomqvist is the real deal. Quick with great reflexes. In one sequence he went from the right side of the net to make a toe save on the other side. It was so quick, the goal judge even turned on the red light thinking it was in. Pysyk skated well and effortlessly. Man I wish FGMRH would have kept Marino. Smith got overwhelmed a few times, he’s smaller than I thought.

Best compliment or validation for Blomqvist may have been a week or so ago, when I saw a reporter from another team raving about Blomqvist and how good of a prospect the Penguins have with him.Wyopen wrote: Wed Nov 22, 2023 10:41 pmWent to Penguins/Bears game tonight. If he stays healthy, continues to improve, and gets a lot of starts in WBS, I could see him potentially as the backup next year since Ned is only on a one year deal...although, so far everything I have seen of Nedeljkovic has been positive and I wouldn't mind him staying.

Wouldn't it be great if another assistant coach was fired this week in Pittsburgh?

Might be time for Sully to be on the same bus out of town. This team has gone really stale the last few years. Head Coaches in the NHL seem to reach an expiration point after a few years. I think Sully has gone past his shelf life.

What I find concerning is POHO/GMKD is awfully quiet during this nearly 20 game stretch. Now I don’t live near Pittsburgh, so he may have made comments about the mediocrity of his team. Is he taking the FGMRH approach (quiet) or are there any comments from him?

I believe this about all we've heard and that was over a month ago:Wyopen wrote: Thu Nov 23, 2023 9:13 amWhat I find concerning is POHO/GMKD is awfully quiet during this nearly 20 game stretch. Hopefully, he's working on some things behind the scenes, but only time will tell.
