Disagree. That was just a real bad pass/clearing attempt by Reilly Smith. Then he got rocked behind the net and took a penalty giving NSH the 6-5 advantage in the O-Zone.

Beyond time! It’s been the same unsuccessful strategy for several years now. They’ve been a .500 team for a couple of seasons now.

We go on runs that right the ship temporarily but can’t sustain it over a long season.

Simplify the game. Get your nose dirty. Everything is so much on the perimeter it’s ridiculous.

Regarding not getting in the goalies face...do we think that it's the players refusing to do it, or the coach telling them to not do it?? Granted we don't have many large skilled forwards, but you don't need skill to screen a goalie.

This team is just so soft and easy to play against. Nobody fears this team. They haven't for years. Pens have fired coaches with better records than this but Sully has those 2 cups as his shield.

They are convinced that their skill level is still elite enough to put pressure on teams within the system that Sully continues to roll with.IMHO its on the Coaching when the continued lack of adjustments is there every night.

I’d add that since they won the back to back Cups, they’ve seemed to play like they don’t have the same desire to sacrifice and do whatever it takes to win. Going to the net front and getting hacked on would be a sign of that. Super skilled team, but yeah, playing without that willingness to go to the front of the net and pay the price makes it too easy to defend against.
