Re: Game 25 vs Lightning - Thoughts from the Afternoon After
First, thanks for putting up the thread. I only watched the 3rd period so didn't feel I had a legit right to do it.
Jake's goal was a fluke, a deflection off a TBL d-man. It's the kind of dirty goal you get by shooting at the net. Would like to see more of that.
0-33 is the running count for the powerplay now. Would have never believed that at the beginning of the season.
Saw several threads on LGP about firing Sully and staff. I think KD is not going to sit on his hands. He made some serious and substantive changes to this Pens team over the summer. I think he improved the team and acquired the pieces needed to make the playoffs. The system is not right. And under the current system, those pieces (players) are slowly losing their grit or unique contribution that made them attractive. It's all going towards a homogeneous blend of mediocrity.

I feel like this team has wasted so many opportunities over the last 5-6 years and now we are watching it in slow motion. Everyone knows Sully must go. I feel like this team won the cups despite him being a so so coach. He is the Bill Belichick of Hockey. We won because of the team not the coaching. The longer we wait to let him go the less of a chance we have of turning things around.
