Looks like a new defensive strategy has been implemented this season that seems to place both D closer to each other and the puck carrier when facing zone entries. EK been particularly guilty but not only one. It's peewee level bad but happens too often with too many of the pairings to blame 1-2 individuals.

The D also looks lost trying to cover the net front, like they are intentionally avoiding our forgetting to cover players in the slot (Gryz on the last one).

Goalies getting hung out to dry repeatedly, just brutal to watch.

Nah... it's perfectly normal for players to spend 3,5,10 years in the league producing at a certain level and playing at a certain level and then come to a team like Pittsburgh and suddenly become trash on ice. Also perfectly normal for those players to leave to another team and restore their play and production to previous levels. Just one of those mysteries that cannot be explained. Don't think too hard about it.
